Thanks for the invitation and your interest, @Lon Tanner . I really feel honored. Would be a first for me. As a matter of course, I'd love to join you for a drink and would tell you all about me, the sublime and the ridiculous. And, being an introvert, I'd be a good listener, too. Cheers! Right, Lon, you were saying....
I would enjoy meeting up with the majority of people on this forum... what a Hoot!! I'd love to arrange a big party and have folks gather somewhere beautiful in the world like a beautiful Spanish mountain Campo.....and have a big cook out!!
@Bess Barber So glad you said I USE to have rules. 30 years ago I could have met your rules for a one night thing. However I must modify them to meet the posters question of who would I most like to have a drink with now. That would be you, but guidelines as follows: BB: I don't drink with people who start crying about a bad past relationship and mess up my buzz. FF: Never cry about it, but I do use colorful words. BB: I don't drink with people whose sole purpose in going out is to find their soulmate. FF: I go out drinking to refresh my memory of why I don't want a soulmate. BB: I don't drink with people who get embarrassed easily. FF: Do personal embarrassments count? The alcohol might cause my dentures to come loose. BB: I don't drink with people who don't bring adequate funds. FF: That won't be an issue. We will get the seniors discount and go on senior girls 2 for 1 happy hour. BB: I don't drink with people who want to leave before last call. FF: Not a problem as senior ladies happy hour is 3-4 PM. How shall we dress? You make the call and I am in........
Yeah girl! I'll bring a guitar and play if you will dance the fandango. Goat roasted over open fire, fine vino, etc.
I'm there... and yes indeedy mi chica , I love nothing more than to hear a solo guitar playing ..altho' I'll leave the Vino to everybody else
Guess I have to do a little "reverse" in my statement about this...…..when I was a part of a relocation forum, a popular lady on the Jacksonville, FL part had a get-together at a local pizza parlor. My wife didn't have a thing to do with this forum, but we both went. Only a few members showed up. It was nice talking to those members, even though them and us had absolutely nothing in common, except me asking questions about Jacksonville.
Everyone is unique and I would venture to write, a little different in person than we experience on this forum. When Ina came to visit, she wasn’t at all as I imagined just from what she was writing on the forum and may I say, it was a pleasant experience. With Ina as an example and sans the alcohol part, I wouldn’t mind meeting anyone here should that be made possible. It’s a given that I’d be more comfortable with some over others but still, I’d treasure the opportunity. And let’s face the real facts, I’m one step ahead of everyone here. I am married to one esteemed member of this forum and although alcohol isn’t an ingredient in our conversations, we get along quite well.
of course I will Dance, I've been a dancer all of my life.... ...and I can do the fandango ..lol... remember I lived in Spain for 10 years...so no probs there.
