Do you have Baker's Cyst of the knees? I was told by my doctor several years ago, that I have Baker's Cyst of the knees. A Baker's cyst is a fluid-filled cyst that causes a bulge and a feeling of tightness behind your knee which is caused by arthritis when the knee is producing too much fluid. The swelling comes and goes with me. I will get up in the mornings and it will be fine but as the day goes on, the swelling comes back. There is some pain but from what I understand, if the cyst burst, it can be very painful. So far, that hasn't happened with me. Do any of you have it? If so, does the front of your knee hurt sometimes?

I have a neighbor who had one of those. She initially used ice and an over-the-counter pain med. After six months, she went to the doctor and he prescribed a steroid or something similar. It finally went away. I thought it was pockets of stored body fluid, but I'm not sure. Sorry you are having to deal with that. Maybe another member will have more helpful information.

Thanks! I hope mine doesn't get so bad that I have to see the doctor again for it but, at my age, who knows. Right now I am using ice and compression and that helps. As usual, when I got up this morning, the swelling was gone and there is no pain but probably by tonight or before, it will be back. Thanks again!

I deal with a pretty damaged knee but fortunately don't have this Bakers C...Have you done a lot of research on alternative therapies for this issue. My damaged knee is from OA which hit my knee at 57 and then complications from a hip replacement at 72, it's a vicious cycle of damage once we do surgeries. Now at 81, I work to NOT do anymore surgeries.

I've been taking Grape Seed Extract for going on 25 yrs and could be this antioxidant works on areas that I don't even realize.

Yes, I've searched online and that's where I found that cold and compression helps and it does. I've tried Grape Seed Extract but I couldn't take it so I had to stop. I don't blame you for trying to avoid surgery and especially "more surgeries". That's what I hope to do is to avoid any type of surgery. Thanks for your suggestions!

When people say they could not take Grape Seed Ex, I always wonder WHY...do you mind saying WHY. It's saved me so much grief in my long life. Have not taken an allergy or sinus drug or seen a doc for these issues in going on 25 yrs.

No, I don't mind. It would make me so dizzy each time I took it and I was only taking 1 a day. There were other problems that it caused too.

Thanks and you are one who can't take the SEEDS...one friend can't as she deals with colitis and it aggrevates that and she has horrible allergies/sinus issues. 2 other friends are taking pharma blood thinners and can't take the Grape Seed. One friend took it for years and then when afib hit her she had to go on pharma blood thinner and off the G SEED...

I feel fortunate it works in my body.

I take grape seed every day. Although I can't remember what it was that I hoped it might do, it doesn't seem to do anything, good or bad, so I don't see any point in wasting the bottle.

Well, I take it every day for going on 25 yrs and it got rid of allergies/sinus issues and drugs and doctors for that issue in my health.

Main I reason I got on it in 1995, we were told "may prevent cancer(s)" and so far I'm good in that area and I'm 81 and hoping it keeps it from my body.

And grape seed ex is said to reduce amyloid plaque on the brain, and so far I'm good in the brain/memory area.,

So FOR ME it's doing a lot of work inside my body that I don't know about...this is what I believe.

And my gums and eyes and hearing are excellent, and I blame that on the grape seed extract as well.

That's great Shirley, must be due to being a N Carolina country girl. Maybe?

Oh I have not had a cold, flu, sore throat or taken vaccines in about 25 yrs, you too Shirley...Something tells me most here get vaccines...

Oh and I don't get mammograms or colonoscopies as the Grape Seed Ex is said to reduce chances of cancers in breast, colon, prostate and skin and trials are in the works on other cancers. You too Shirley?
