LOL.. well I'm pretty simple, I live in the country but I've never stepped in chicken poop in my bare feet...
No socks with sandals here, we're tough Canadians here. Sandals or flip flops start appearing end of March, sometimes sooner if it's really nice, and right through to end of October, longer, if it's nice......i hate socks.
Sock and sandles worn by men in public is actually a no-go here. Some elder men don't care, though. I do.
I frequently wear socks with sandals or with clogs, even in the winter, with snow on the ground. But I couldn't care less whether it's a thing or not.
'Socks and sandals - socks and sandals - go together like a mismatched handles' Ha ha - this thread was a very welcome read this morning
Perhaps I’m a bit out of touch and not very fashion conscious but what really is the harm with wearing socks whilst donning one’s favorite pair of sandals? If some huge Hollywood star was seen in a movie doing it, would that constitute a good reason for doing what one already knows is comfortable to them? There was a time when I wouldn’t walk out of the house until I was dressed to the 9’s but those days are over and I’ve pretty much turned into somewhat of a slob comparatively. Just for kicks and giggles, I’m going to go out and find a good pair of men’s leather sandals and if they feel good, I’m going to wear them with my toe socks. Yup....That ought to get folks talkin’ ! Heck, nobody talks about the idiots walking around with their pants down to below their butts so toe socks and sandals shouldn’t really be an issue.
Oh but we do Socks and sandals and any lack of dress sense hurts the eyes - Celine Dion as an example hasn't a clue on how to dress, saw another picture yesterday to confirm that, this time wearing a pair of jeans - one leg was a 'flare' and covered one shoe - the other leg was a tight fit with a roll up hem Ridic The 'designers' must love her
