I like likes. I like them here. I like them there. I like them in a house. I like them with a mouse. I like them in a box. I like them with @Faye Fox . I like them in the dark. I like them in the park. I like them on a train. I like them in the rain. I do sooo like likes.
Well, I am giving you a like for the "thinly veiled" comment. That was very kind. I thought I was very direct begging Harry for another like. Ha ha ha! No worries @Hal Pollner I am harmless and just having fun. I only want your like if my post deserves it.
Not really, well.....maybe. I’m not a big fan of taking pictures but things that are extremely rare or nearly extinct intrigue me enough to snap a shutter.
Well, let this be a day of confessions. I also like Likes because they helped me to attain my current member status which I'm extremely proud of. I finally managed to get the status of a very well-known member benefiting from 10 final trophy points awarded on my birthday at the end of March. I wonder how long it would have taken without those. Anyway, that's all I've ever wanted. That's why I joined this forum. What else should I want? After all, it took me almost a year of hard work and pain and suffering. What really bugs me, though, is that others managed to get the same status far more quickly. I never figured out how they did that. By posting more and getting more likes within a shorter period of time, I assume? Anyway, many thanks to those who liked my posts and showed it. I know there are some really courteous and patient people here on this forum. Much appreciated. Can't find my name under "Notable Members", though... What an omission.
@Thomas Stearn Maybe this is like Instagram and you can buy likes if you have the right connections and cash. ha ha!
That is the plan, but it will never happen because of two younger senior ladies, names I won't mention, but initials are @Bess Barber and @Beth Gallagher , that will cut in and stop it. Those two Girl Scouts, Brownies really, have hogged the guys for too long. I have been to this dance before. I get up to cut in and they push me back in the corner ...... sitting by myself .... filling empty beer bottles with teardrops. Well, I have connections and will call Freddy because he promised me, "Faye, if those girls ever steal your guy ..making you cry .. just remember who matters most of all .... If they ever make you blue .. just remember I love you .. and I''ll be there before the NEXT teardrop falls." Documented: Dot Records vinyl LP released 1974.
I'm looking forward to it. Hal, you were afraid this thread had gotten out of hand. Why don't you look at it from a different perspective: you started a thread that got off to a real flyer.
Not one of my favorites either, but when it came out I was working on a job where they had a radio playing all day and the station played it over and over and one of the drywall guys sang along with it. I have never gotten it out of my head. Not really a country music fan.
