I learned yesterday how to access my internet speed with the help of @Beth Gallagher, happy camper. I checked my storage locker in my brain to make sure i have room for all this new learned stuff....no fear....lots of room. .
@Patsy Faye Interesting to note that my Dad bought a brand-new Ford car in 1935, complete with V-8 engine which easily kept up with Cadillacs costing 5 or times as much, for $605! Prices may have dropped due to the Depression. Frank
I learned today that the Pokomoke River in Pokomoke City, MD is the deepest river in the U S and second deepest river in the world, after the Nile.
I learned that when walking downstairs with a cup of coffee, sometimes I'm not actually on the last step. It's OK though, the floor broke my fall.
I learned today that I do not have to feel like such an idiot by thinking I am the only one who occasionally thinks the step or rung on a ladder I am on is the last one. Perhaps today is my lucky day and I’ll find someone who also trips on the crack in a sidewalk,
I learnt a new word today - rebelistic Me darlin' came up with the word - said he was feeling 'rebelistic' - I like it
I learned yesterday that men are not the gentlemen they once were. I had 2 heavy shopping bags in one hand and a cup of hot coffee in another. I tried to get out the big glass pull handle door of the pub but there was no where to put the coffee down. I was surrounded by men sitting at nearby tables..(I mean just as little as 3 feet away)... I put my shopping on the floor, but the bags fell over and the shopping fell out and I still had the hot coffee in my other hand.. so I couldn't pick the bags up..Do you think one of those men offered to open that door?.. not a bluddy chance!!
Rolling the word around in my head, it works much better with a British accent than an American southern accent. The British version gives it a little bit of a Victorian flair whereas the American southern sounds redneck as heck.
