I notice that Holly, Beth, Shirley, and Bess change their avatars frequently. I do too. Its good for the digestion! Hal.
@Hal Pollner I really like seeing how other people look, but I just got tired of looking at my own self. This new avatar is lame. I'll probably change it eventually.
I don't like looking at my own picture, either, Bess. But it's nice to see others!! I actually don't like it when avatars change; it takes a while for me to "recognize" the poster again.
I change mine by the season or holiday. I'm trying to find a Puritan one for Thanksgiving. I can just picture myself as a virtuous Puritan lady.
I know!!!! When I first joined @Shirley Martin had a red, white and blue pioneer avatar. When she changed it, it took me forever to get used to it.
What???? Are you impugning my virtue???????? I have one as a cross dresser but I'm afraid to use it. It's quite voluptuous.
Funny but this is a classic test of how a person thinks. We either lean toward thinking in images or words. I lean toward words which is why I rarely notice any Avatar changes.
It could also mean that you prefer to take into account the poster, as well as the words. The same words from two different people can mean something slightly different. If you are a great writer, there should be no ambiguity, unless it's intentional. Lots of smileys helps too.
Or it could mean that when I was much younger (teens) and snagged a rather risque’ magazine, I actually DID like to read the articles more than looking at the pictures. Truthfully though, I instantly see what the name of the poster is but rarely focus on the avatar unless it’s something weird like Tom Tit’s. Hmmm.....a little irony in that but it’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
