I had one after they came out 1978 and can't remember why I didn't like it. I sold it and just stayed with my 30 30. I always had a soft spot for Winchester model 94's and Colt revolvers. I was never one for bolt actions and scopes. Never really a shotgun lover either, but always had one around. Something about a shorter barrel 12 gauge hidden but near my bed, that helped me sleep when I lived alone in the mountains.

We bought me, for Christmas a few years ago, a Model 94 Winchester Lever-Action 30 30. Had a scope put on it, so I can use it better at a Range. It does have some "kick" to it when fired. Sort of like the S & W 9mm my wife has.

Yes, the 30 30 does have a bit of kick and I remember the .375 had a lot more. I think main reason I sold it was the cost of ammo. The 30 30 is a hard one to beat. I also had a model 94 .22 I sold just a few years ago. It was my all time favorite Winchester model 94.

I'm a bolt action fan. I just sold my custom Mauser 98 .270 caliber. I have a stainless steel Winchester model 70 also in .270 caliber. My favorite hand guns are my Colt Python 357 magnum and Colt Cobra 38 special.

The Mauser 98 was my dads and our family gunsmiths favorite. They bought up several of them and converted them from the original 8mm to .270 and .243 Rockchucker. The .243 was a real barrel burner, but with a great scope was deadly for ground rodents. Very flat trajectory and the 98 Mauser bolt could handle some serious loads. I had a Mauser 98 that I left the original 8mm and just modified the stock to a more girl friendly design and added a super duper recoil pad. Loaded heavy that rifle could set a skinny girl like me back on my butt quick and in a hurry. Being tall (for a female) I learned to take a stance that used leverage more than body weight. One summer when I was in Alaska and on days off went out exploring, I carried that old bolt action for possible grizzly attacks. Never had to use it. I had special blunt nose bullets and heavy loads. 10 years later when I sold that old German military rifle, all that grizzly ammo was included in the deal.

Before we bought the S & W 9mm, we got a Sig Saur .22. When we decided we wanted a more powerful handgun, my wife really had thought about a 44 or 357 Magnum. Well, that was until we went to a Gun Show and she was handed each to look at. She could barely hold either. That was when she changed her mind to a S & W 9mm.

I shot a few rounds from a .357 (I always shoot hand guns both hands) and it was way too much for me. A Colt .44 loaded light I could handle, but the .22 LR Colt was my favorite. Did she chose the revolver or semi auto? I know a young lady that has the snub nose S & W 9 mm revolver as a conceal. My guns days are way behind me, but I still enjoy discussing the old west guns.

We got her a semi auto. Funny, but when I show young or old a picture of her, on my iPhone, shooting her 9mm at the Range, they are pretty amazed. Some will say "that is so neat". Actually, at the Range we were members of for 10 1/2 years, in Florida, she was among only a small handful of ladies that would shoot there. And, we only met one lady that was my wife's age (early 70's).

You will note The Rifleman's model 94 spits out 12 rounds in quick succession!

These are obviously not .30-30 cartridges!

Here are our handguns...my wife enjoys the .22 cal. Ruger Mark II Target Pistol.

I have fun with the Ruger 6-shooter in Colt .45 caliber.

Also shown are the S&W Military & Police .357 magnum and a Ruger .22 six-gun.
