My wife loves a Pot Pie from KFC. We use to buy Pot Pies from store, until we looked at how much sodium is in one. Holly, the only thing we make at home is potato salad. No more pies, cakes, cookies or anything like them. Since we are both Diabetic II, just can't have those sweets anymore.
WOW! I had a Marie Callendar's Chicken Pot Pie last night while watching the Astros clobber the Nationals . It was delicious...even the crust was tasty! Hal
You'd be better off making things at home than buying them ready made, that way you can control the amount of sugar and salt in them
Diabetics and people with cholesterol problems or over weight would do well to avoid pot pies. https://www.calorieking.com/us/en/f...chicken-pot-pie-frozen/pj1qpJPyQGyLOOvzeEDqMQ
I love pot pies but I don't think about them until the weather gets cold. My favorites are Marie Callender's from the frozen foods, and I also like the KFC pies. But even the old cheap Banquet ones taste pretty good!! I like a bottom crust so the cheap ones with just a top crust are a disappointment.
I like chicken and turkey. I've made my own using ready made pie crusts baked golden brown and flaky before added the other ingredients.
I make my own most of the time. A good one is Marie Callenders ... for store bought. @Ruby Begonia ...yeah we all know that anything you like to eat will kill you.
Pot pies are good old fashioned comfort food. We ate a lot of them as kids and I still love them. My favorite pot pie that is not home made is Marie Calendars. However .. way too much sodium to have those on a regular basis. And my choice is always turkey. If I am making my own it will be turkey or chicken.
@Lon Tanner I've never seen a pot pie with the crust just layed over the bowl like that. Interesting.
I would only eat the ones with crust on the bottom too. It's not a PIE without the bottom. I wonder if there would be a way to make a cheesy crust and put chili in it??
My goofy husband doesn't like pie crust. I KNOW!! Anyway, his peculiarity allows me to have double crusts, so woo hoo.
