First of all, It is unhealthy and secondly it looks very unappealing. Breaded steak and all that gravy. UGH!

Well, at an older Seniors age, we should be able to eat pretty much anything we want, but I do know that that isn't necessarily good.

There are many younger, and older, Seniors that partake in Thanksgiving Dinner and cover their pieces of turkey, stuffing mix and mashed potatoes with lots of turkey gravy.

We do not make it at home, but it is something that both Bobby and I enjoy, so we sometimes have the chicken fried steak if we go out for brunch. Usually, we have it at IHOP, and they do a great job of preparing it, and it can be served either with eggs/potatoes as a breakfast meal, or with veggies/potato for a lunch meal .
While I do agree with @Lois Winters that it is important to eat healthy foods, especially for seniors; since it is an occasional enjoyment for us, I do not see that having it now and then is going to be a problem for our health.

It's sometimes called country fried steak in restaurants. We never have it at home either, and it's not something I order regularly in restaurants, but it's on my list of acceptable choices. Sometimes I opt to eat healthier - like a Reuben or the fajita plate.

Don't recall ever being in a place that offered it on the menu.

Some restaurants have a breakfast CFS and a lunch CFS, the difference being, I think, what comes with it. However, I have never ordered it for breakfast so I'm not sure.

Believe it or not, I along with 67% other Americans do not eat turkey on Thanksgiving nor any other day. It makes me ill. I usually have roast beef or ham. If the gravy is natural or au jus, I'll use it, but not otherwise.

Here, it's called country style steak. I like mine smothered with mushroom and onion gravy. It's sooo good.

Yeah! The gravy has to be cooked just right or it messes up the whole thing. Of course, I've been known to cook pork chops pretty much the same way.

Pork chops and gravy???? That's a sacrilege! Pork chops is suppose to be dipped in flour and fried and served just as it is. Or cooked to delicious doneness on the charcoal grill and served with slaw and French fries.

Lois...this is the ONLY variety of steak I'll order at our favorite steakhouse "Steer & Stein." The breading makes it tender enough for me to Cut and Chew, and that thick blanket of white Country style gravy is what makes it a real treat! WONDERFUL!

It's not listed as "Chicken Fried Steak" on the menu,...it's COUNTRY Fried Steak! You say it's "unhealthy".....Steer & Stein, which has won awards for the High Desert's Best Steakhouse 7 years in a row, would not have anything on their menu which is unhealthy.....they must conform to Government Standards for what they offer to the dining public!
