LOL. There was a story on the news yesterday about some woman who dreamed she ate her engagement ring and apparently she actually DID.
Did you know that the only walled in city in North America is ............................ QUEBEC CITY....... Just happens that is my hometown where I grew up and went to school.....
Did you know that chewing gum will stop you from crying when cutting onions ............ That’s because the chomping encourages you to breathe through your mouth, so the onion’s chemicals won’t make it up your nasal passage.
I was reading one of those little things that doctors have on their television sets for you to read while waiting, and this one said that your body can’t control its temperature when you are in a deep sleep. It said that your brain will pull you out of a deep sleep into one where your body is awake enough to control body temperature. The recommendation was that we should sleep in a room with a comfortable temperature, not too hot or too cold, and then we can get a deeper sleep at night.
@Yvonne Smith I always find I sleep better when the room is really cold. In the summer this is harder because I don't want to run the AC like a lunatic, but I sure do love winters. I keep my thermostat at 64 - 65 degrees. Let me add, I do have to get my courage together when waking up in order to grab my fuzzy socks and housecoat from the chair.
Somebody once told me, or I read it somewhere, that if you go to bed with socks on, you will fall asleep 25% faster.. Now, I don't know if that is true or not, but somehow I tried it, and it seems to give a better night's sleep as well as falling asleep faster... Am I the only one that did this, or did anyone else try it, and did anyone else hear about that.....
I sometimes wear socks to bed in the winter when my feet feel like they are totally frozen, and it does seem to help me be able to go to sleep faster, because my feet start to warm up and the pain from being so cold goes away. The problem is that sometime during the night, my feet have warmed up enough that I have to wake up and take my socks back off; so I am not sure that I actually get a better night’s sleep, just that I DO go to sleep faster with the socks on.
I've tried the socks thing, but my feet get too hot. I simply wait for them to warm naturally. I fall asleep fast if I pick up a book. Sometimes I don't even get my glasses on.
Same here, Lois. I get too hot with socks on. I do like to take a heated throw and warm up the foot of the bed before I get in...then turn it off.
If it's too cold, I have a down throw I can toss across the top sheet to warm my feet and lower legs.
You can also wash your hands with a stainless steel utensil between them a bit of soap and it will absorb the onion smell on your hands.
