These shootings don't happen everywhere in California. We have a niece, her husband and their teen daughter that live in Lake Forest (So California) and basically no crime there. Basically the same in Newport Beach, Mission Viejo, Laguna Beach and so on. Very little crime in the complete northern part of California...…..like, Shasta Lake area, Red Bluff, Marysville and others. Now, when it comes to San Francisco, Fresno, Los Angeles/Los Angeles County, and parts of Orange, San Bernardino, Riverside and San Diego Counties, it can be very different.
Fresno is the 3rd killings in the last couple weeks in CA. Saugus school shooting, then about a week ago or so a father killed his wife and children in San Diego and now the Fresno. My thinking on all this is the access to so many drugs, both legal and illegal and the massive arsenals of weapons in the U.S. I've heard something like 300Million guns around. Tragic all of it...
I'm surprised, I was always led to believe it was a really nice area.. . Incidentally how large is Fresno.. ?
I gave it 8 months back in the 50s when it was still without all the nonsense today. But, I guess being from the New York area, I found it a tad too dull for my taste.
Oh that's true living in CA vs NY is like day and night. Certainly not laid back in NY and I've thought I've lived in a resort town all my life and many come here for just that, wide beaches and sunshine.
@Lon Tanner City of Fresno has 810 police officers, average salary $56,000. Area 112 square miles, thus ~ 7 COPS PER Sq. mile. Population: 500,000 Contrast or compare: We live in very rural Mohave County (AZ) which has an area of 13,460 square miles, 120 TIMES the area of Fresno. Sheriffs Departments; Population Served: 165,000, 1/3 the population of Fresno. Number of Officers: 94 ...thus we have ONE cop serving each 143 square miles! Or, each sq. mile has 0.007 COPS guarding it's constituents! 7 cops per sq. mile vs. 0.007 cops per sq. mile. Which area has the more adequate police coverage? Hell, we must have RAMPANT CRIME here!
