I have my plow guy plow a path to the filler pipe on the house and he plows behind the house so that I have easy access to the generator.
I find that weather forecasters usually give the worst case scenario on storms for their own protection, so the bad ones in my area are relatively rare. When working, I was expected in regardless of weather, so I've had my share of white-knuckle drives. Real misery doesn't really kick in until storms knock out the power, and you rediscover how it was living in an earlier time...
Isn't THAT the truth!!! We are all mostly retired. As long as we have a heater and internet service, who really cares what the weather is like???
I do. If I don't shovel the driveway, we can't go anywhere; not even shopping. If I don't shovel the sidewalk, they don't deliver the mail or UPS packages. If I don't shovel a path to the oil tank, I no longer have heat. I hate shoveling.
True, Bess, BUT, you do get very high humidity and heat in the summer and those darn tropical storms and hurricanes. We have to endure snow and cold weather now, but for us, it was worth leaving someplace we ended up not liking.
We are in for some two feet of snow. In fact it is heavily snowing as I write this. Oh well, like everyone here says this time of year...….."Welcome to Colorado!" No shoveling for us. Apartment complex takes care of that and clearing the driveways. However, I will go out tomorrow, take a few pictures and some video of the snow and clean some snow off of our vehicle. Will have to go over to the Boat/RV storage this weekend and clean the snow off of our boat cover.
