    John 8:24
I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins.

Not knowing what was declared in the bible, what happened/happens to those tribes that commit what would be viewed a sin in the bible?

In all things, God is just. Entertaining ourselves with what we “think” God’s judgement will be upon any person under any circumstance is just that, entertainment.
1 Cor 3:19 tells us: The wisdom that worldly men esteem , is foolishness with God.
Isaiah 55:8 reads: For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.

For those who have heard the gospel and also for those who believe..........
We read in Romans 3:23: For ALL have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
And....Romans 3:10 says: There is none righteous, no not one.

And the end results in......I the Lord search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings. Jeremiah..17:10

In other words.....God is the judge. It’s His job and there’s only one occupant in that position and I guarantee He is not about to worry about job security no matter how much we think His job is ours.

    Simplicity in action

True Bobby - we are confined by the knowledge we have gained so far
If its a sin to be spiritual - then I'm guilty, wish more people were

    Talk about job security.

How many people die every day?

    • According to the World Health Organization, 56 million people die each year, which is an average of about 153,424 people each day.

How many people die at the hands of other people?
God didn’t make robots, he made people who have free will.

And again, the biological part of man dies......not the spirit.

You did say it is God's job to judge no doubt judging had built in job security.

A note to anyone who's complaining about how the O.T. isn't relevant: Genesis 17:19, Exodus 12:24, Leviticus 23:14, Deuteronomy 4:9, Isaiah 40:8, Malachi 4:4, Matthew 5:18 and Luke 16:17 among others.
And Romans 1:32 is in the New Testament and recommends the death penalty for plenty of these 'sins' anyway.

If you want to know how many times you should be killed, read the following list. Each number is the amount of verses which condemn that 'sin'-and this is just a quick read through.
    Not being Christian 6
    Being a witch 1
    Being gay 2
    Being a fortune teller 1
    Cursing a parent 3
    Adultery 1
    Fornication 2
    Being a false prophet 3
    Blasphemy 2
    Working on Sunday 1

Good thing society doesn't follow what the bible wants to happen otherwise the population of earth might be very limited.

It’s already getting thin. Hundreds of thousands of babies have been aborted and just this year so far, 70,000 people have died from drug overdoses.
And, you do not have to worry so much about what we follow and do not follow in the Bible, because In the Muslim nations, all the deadly things you wrote about ARE being practiced and I do not see their populations diminishing by even one iota.

    All that said.........
Do you not know about a small word called .grace?
Of course the Old Testament and “the law” is relevant but you also should know that everyone, that’s EVERYONE.....is condemned by it.
ALL sin carries condemnation with it but through Grace, that is the sacrifice of Jesus the Christ, we are saved from that condemnation.
    It’s easy, and again, simple.

You’re doing an awful lot of Google searches just to have your way Bob but you can’t have it just your way. You have to reveal the other side of the coin in order to be accurate.
The law was established because prior to the Lord’s 10 biggies there was no law other than the individual mandates of each tribe and leaders.

After the advent of Jesus Christ and the New Covenant there is no mandate which condemns men to be executed by other men.
To quote another verse Bob......why do you kick against the pricks? It is your life that matters, everyone else can look after theirs.

Even so, how about us going back on topic and write about what you think about the soul, heaven and hell as the OP asked for?

Why is countering a view having it my way? You put forth your view based on information I'm doing the same. As for the op's question my post #18 addressed the question. But like most threads deviating from a yes or no response does happen

The "soul" is merely what some people believe to exist.

Heaven and Hell cannot be in the mind of the Departed...there is no mind after death...only Oblivion.

Living friends of the departed can believe he has gone to a Heaven or a Hell because they are alive to believe it!

    See?

And you are certain of this how?
It’s a scientific fact that thought precedes brain wave activity so now I would like you to define thought. You can’t see it, feel it nor measure it but still, you possess thought.........or for those who doubt it.......maybe not.

I'm guessing you are referring to the brain functioning after death. So i'm asking you. What good is brain activity or a thought of a deceased if that thought isn't communicated?

So, I take it you do not differentiate between the mind and the brain. To say that the brain lives for any length of time after death would indeed be totally absurd.
If you’ll take about 5 or 10 years like I have or even one whole day and research “thought” and or “consciousness” you’ll undoubtedly come away with only a little bit of the vast spectrum of what I am referring to.

Edit: When I write, “consciousness” I’m not referring to someone who has just opened their eyes after getting knocked out after some fight.
To make things simple, if that can be done, take someone who is in a coma for instance. It is said that talking to that person can be beneficial. It isn’t that their brainwave activity changes but there is an almost certainty that some of those people know what is going on around them whilst in the coma. Several subjects have said as much but the problem is, there is no method to determine or measure whether a person is conscious. In other words, that person may be awake and aware but have no ability to exhibit that awareness.

To Sheldon and the others who liked his #11 post saying that heaven and hell do not exist; that it's just another control method to keep people supporting the church, I'd counter such reasoning with these points.

The concept of a day of judgement and God exercising his wrath upon the wicked was documented in the Bible's Old Testament well before the Christian era. And the specific doctrines of heaven and hell were taught by Jesus and the apostles well before the churches were established. Thus, the reality of heaven or hell has no dependence whatsoever on whether or what churches today are preaching about it. To justify one's position on the existence of heaven or hell on this unfounded connection is illogical.

The reality is that hell is a distasteful and unpopular topic for preachers and pastors to cover, and thus, very few sermons are actually given on it (compared to the millions of other sermons given each year). While the subject matter may certainly be used as a reminding lesson to fear God, its an unjustified conclusion to assume that its a control tactic used by churches to build or maintain membership.

I'd suggest that belief in heaven and hell relies on belief in God and the authority of the Bible's scriptures. For anyone recognizing the supernatural creation of this world, the first premise is obvious and scientifically supported. For anyone studying the Bible, the second premise is supported by its manuscript authority, scientific insight, and fulfilled prophesy.

Atheists, skeptics, and even God believing individuals who deny the existance of a real hell should consider that their belief or unbelief has no bearing on whether such a reality exists. The importance of one's potential soul is immeasurably important, and it seems incomprehensable that anyone would willingly choose a potential path towards eternal torment over a path of eternal joy. It really should give pause to anyone rejecting the grace and life that Jesus offers.
