Tomorrow, we'll be headed off to Arlington for a few days. As always, we'll be stopping for the night early at hotels along the way, so I'll be in the forum every day, just not as often, particularly in the daytime. Plus since we'll be there for only three days rather than the usual week, I expect I'll be busier during the day, with the grandkids and all.

Have a nice trip, Ken. What is the weather looking like there?

So far, we've had it pretty easy here, only one snowstorm and it wasn't a particularly bad one. There is supposed to be a storm on the way but the freeways along the East Coast are usually fairly clear anyhow. If it gets bad, we'll just stop.

The whole way, we were getting warnings about the severe snowstorms that were supposedly devastating Portland. However, we went through Portland and the road was dry with no snow whatsoever coming down. It seems they were reporting a forecast as if it were a reality. I think we are going to get snow but it hasn't gotten here yet. We've stopped for the night just short of the New Hampshire border. We usually make it to Massachusetts before we stop, but we had a late start. I didn't want to leave home until our fuel oil was delivered, just in case something went awry.

Ken, I just saw the weather for that part of the country. It looks horrible for the next day or so. Do be careful.

We were listening to the weather reports on the way here but they were lying.

I live in Maine. I've seen snow before. But not today.

It's after 10 pm now, and there's nothing here yet. We have a slight dusting on our car but that's it. I'm still in Maine, but just north of New Hampshire.

We had maybe an inch of snow overnight. It's snowing now, but I wouldn't call it a storm.

Here in N. Alabama, that would be considered a major storm. No schools open, the Arsenal would be closed and all the bread, water and toilet tissue would be off the shelves of any store that sells them.
And, just because it’s inclement weather, all the idiots go 30 MPH faster than they would on a good day because even the cops are huddling up and rarely seen.

But that’s here and where you are, you’re used to the white stuff but still, be safe amigo, prayers for traveling mercies abound.
