I went online last night and bought the phone. It will be delivered from the local Apple Store to me between 10 AM and Noon. I will be spending a good part of the day playing & programming the phone.
I'm behind the times, I've got the Iphone X...didn't realise there was an 11 out. I won't be getting it...
For me personally, there are a great many things I would rather have than a new phone, but for some people it's a happy moment to get a new one! I'm glad you had a fun day @Lon Tanner !!
One you've had a little play with your new phone...can you let us know what differences if any there are between the X (10) and the 11
Robin also has the new iPhone 11 Pro, and I think that one of he main differences (that is important to her) is the awesomeness of the camera on the 11 Pro. It has a bigger and better camera than any of the older phones, and does a lot more things with camera capabilities than the iPhone X that she had before. You need to read about it to see the actual differences in the camera, and I imagine that is not necessarily the features that are important to Lon. Robin got me a new phone, too, and I went from the iPhone 7 Plus to the iPhone 11 Plus, which is actually smaller to hold than the 7 Plus was, but it has the larger screen , as well as Face ID, which I really enjoy; but you already have that on the 10, so not a difference for you. Lon didn’t say which version of iPhone he is upgrading from, so if it is one of the older versions, then the Face ID will be new for him, too. In any case, the 11 Pro is an awesome phone ! Lon didn’t specify whether he got the Pro or the Pro Max (which is larger), but most everything else except the size seem to be about the same. Here is the Apple website that shows each of the phones and what the specs are for each one . https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201296
I'm finding it difficult to see how the camera on the 11 can be better than the 10 (X) which I have now, ... however I'm not going to upgrade to find out!!
All I can tell you is what Robin says, @Holly Saunders . She had the 10 before this one, and she loves taking pictures, so the camera is probably the main reason that she wanted to upgrade to the 11 Pro.
We still have our iPhone 6. Since we have a descent Canon digital camera, I don't use the camera/video part of my iPhone very much. But, actually, when it comes to "action" photos, my iPhone can do better than the digital camera does. Thing is, two brand new iPhones would cost us a heap of money. We have other things to take care of with that "heap of money" first.
oh my goodness... you will see a Massive difference from the 6 to the 11 I've still got my 5c, a 7, an 8 , and 2 Blackberries in a drawer. I should have sold them every time I upgraded because they're all in perfect condition , but I never got around to it...
My husband went from a 5 to the 11. He wouldn't have upgraded at all but his old phone wasn't getting any OS updates and the battery was failing...again. He's not a "latest and greatest" kind of guy. I'm still happily using my 6+ and frankly I don't see a lot of difference between my phone and his shiny new one. My OS still gets the latest updates and I have zero interest in face recognition of any of that stuff. I don't use my cell phone much so it still looks brand new; I'll keep it until it dies.
@Cody Fousnaugh Just wondering Cody, most all companies here offer free phones, with a two year plan, you can also buy them outright, but why, there are so expensive....do you have to pay for your cell phones.
