I didn't know there was such a thing, but this short article makes sense, to me: 24-Hour Colds Last week, there was a day of stuffy sinus on one side. You could feel it when you bent over, coughed, or tried to sleep on that side of your face, but that was all. Not a big deal. Then all the sudden I start sneezing like crazy, runny nose, stuffy head, just like the onset of a cold. In an hour it was all gone, as if it never happened. I like that kind of cold. Did you ever experience a cold that lasted just one day?
In a word NO... simply because I don't get Colds. ...I have had flu and pneumonia, but I'm fortunate that I never get the cold virus...

I have had plenty of them. The problem for me was trying to differentiate whether it was my sinus' or the 24-hour cold. I began to notice that I would have chills with the cold which I don't when my sinus' act up.
This is a good insight and I've just been pondering on it. I may well have had these because at the first sings, I dose meself up to try and prevent a cold developing
Von, I wondered if it might not be just a sinus problem. But maybe sinus problems can be caused by viruses too. If that's the case, maybe it still qualifies as a "cold." Who knows...
Same here--if I don't have fever and chills, I call it allergies. Mucous with a cold is different, too. (Ick.)
I thought I only got chills and a temperature with the flu. But since both flu and colds are cause by a virus, I guess there would be cases in between. And I suppose what one person calls a fever another person doesn't. I never bother to take my temperature unless I know for sure I have a fever. Does that make sense? lol
They say the way to tell the difference between a cold and flu is, if you see a £10 note lying on the ground 20 feet away..if you have a cold you'll pick it up, if you have flu you won't have the energy to go get it...
