Good for you @Ken Anderson for reviving this interesting thread. canteen for Disney actors, Hollywood.
Now that's what I'd call a studded tire. BTW news story this morning about Jackman ME has not had a no school day for 3 years because of snow.
@Al Amoling When I was in school, no such thing existed (in the Chicago area) as a "snow" day. One morning in Kindergarten, a foot had fallen overnight. Off I trudged at 5 years of age through that foot of snow, following tracks from tires, footprints, etc., the 1-1/2 miles to my school. My Mother knew full well I could handle it! Three kids showed up! The other two had been driven there by their m others.. Frank
@Frank Sanoica I grew up in Boston and I don't remember any snow days either. In fact I have one favorite memory of hooking a ride on the back of a taxi that was heading towards my school. I happened to look up and my teacher was staring at me so I let go just as we hit a bare spot and I scraped my face a bit.
Perhaps you have access to some historical NC pics. I'd be interested in seeing those and expect so are others. The Sydney "coathanger" nears completion. I expect this is around 1932.
