Thank you, Windows 10, for shoving more unnecessary technology down my throat! I have no need for a Touch Screen nor for a Camera looking right at me! Leave the Camera to teeny-boppers who are all hyped-up on "Selfies'! And now, Forumites...how can I disable that totally unnecessary Touch Screen? Thank Y'all... Howl
OK, here's the real deal... In general, please try: Press the Windows logo key + X. Select Device Manager from the list. Click the little arrow next to Human Interface Devices to expand the list. Click the touch screen driver, Right-click, and select Disable from the list.
Beth...thanks to you, I was able to import a Video from YouTube to the Forum, and now the Touch Screen! Now all I want is a nice picture of you, current or not! Hal
@Hal Pollner Don't mess with @Beth Gallagher She has the power to give you the wrong advice next time and your computer may end up blowing up.
I rather liked and agreed with @Beth Gallagher‘s initial assessment. I mean, ya pay extra bucks to have a touch screen and then disable what is paid for. Oh well. Just a warning though. Someday Hal is going to wish he had the touch screen should his computer fail to recognize the mouse or it goes boom on it’s own. I had it happen on the Dell and was able to maneuver around with the touch screen to go to settings and get things straightened out. Of course, I guess I could have simply re-booted the whole thing but where’s the fun in that?
Hey, Mister....I would have paid extra bucks NOT to have a touch screen! I'm 14 years your Senior and I've learned to know what I like! Now be nice! H.P.
My next computer, and I plan to buy one before March, WILL have a touch screen. You don't have to use it all the time, but when you want to, they are amazing.
I hate touch screens. I even prefer my older Kindles, which had buttons. My wife gets used to her touch screen and she keeps putting her fingers on my MacBook screen, and that's annoying because I like having clean screens.
