Hal... I also don't smoke... I was never a real smoker however I stopped about 40 odd years ago... I never liked it....
Think of all the money you've saved!! Marlborough Special Blend is $5.25 a pack here and I smoke about 3.5 packs a week. I do get regular coupons from Marlborough, plus nice birthday cards, but it is still an expense I wish I didn't have.
Every 'c' in Pacific Ocean is pronounced differently...... The English language is quirky, and one of the best examples of that is in the way we pronounce Pacific Ocean.. Take your time to say it slowly, and you'll notice that each 'c' is said differently—the first with an 's' sound, the second as a hard 'ck' sound, and the third with a 'sh' sound......
I was watching a program on TV and I learned something I didn't know or realised.. Do you know that anything ever made from plastic in the world still exists... I was truly shocked to learn that..... No wonder we are having a plastic problem... Plastic NEVER disintegrates..... Apparently most other items in our landfill do, except plastic..
Which is one of the reasons, I feel that so many talented people could form a company for DIYers to recycle these items into something useful.
Lois... There is something called recycling ... That is only recent and not 100 years ago... Now, can you imagine how much plastic is in the landfills and the garbage dumps from all those years ??? ... Unimaginable !!! That's all over the world ......
Exactly, Steve, and can you imagine if all those talented people out there collected reams of it an made all sorts of things out of that trash? Bess even posted a picture of a house made out of plastic bottles with solar panels for heating and cooling.
Lois... The problem is we are now recycling where 75 years ago, it wasn't thought of.. The amount of plastic we now have is totally unbelievable.. Yes we are using less now, but till now...... What a mess we have made....
You still smoke Bess. Filthy habit. I can say that now as I gave em away in my mid 40s. I was a pack a day man. Hated it but like you was hooked. Governments wont ban them like other drugs because they bring in so much excise revenue.

I go to my local supermarket & buy a pack of sliced ham wrapped in plastic, a loaf of bread in a plastic bag, 4L of milk in a plastic bag, a pack of napkins wrapped in plastic, a Greek salad in a plastic container, a plastic bottle of mustard & a plastic bottle of ketchup, & they won't give me a plastic bag to carry it home because the plastic bag is bad for the environment?
