Really? I know that kids who are now aged 17 but would be 18 by election day in Nov. were permitted to vote in the caucus yesterday. Wonder if that has anything to do with this?
Haha. My husband sat up until nearly 3 a.m. watching that circus. Every single candidate had taken to the podium and declared themselves the winner; it was hysterical.
You don’t think that he has the Elizabeth Warren look going on, @Hal Pollner ? Seems somewhat of a resemblance to me, and they both have the same thoughts about President Trump and his followers.....
The plot thickens. 'Shadow, a Democratic tech firm, created the app that was supposed to deliver quicker caucus results. Gerard Niemira, a veteran of Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign, is the head of Shadow. https://www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/iowa-caucus-app-shadow_n_5e390191c5b687dacc722824?ri18n
Is Bloomberg going to buy the nomination? He is spending unimageable amounts of money on TV ads here. He seems to be saying that he and President Obama were BFF.
A friend of mine and I were pondering this earlier in the evening. She thinks it is already decided by the DNC that Biden will be the nominee regardless. I think that would be suicide by the DNC for sure, but they'd better come up with something because Bernie is scaring them to death. What they do not see are the people who surround the likes of Bernie or Warren, disaffected teens and crazy women in that order. Firefighters for Biden is another thing altogether, however, if Barr and the DOJ really decide to out the Biden family, he's really dead in the water. Peter Schweitzer did it in his book, but get the feds on him and that's the end. Mayor Pete is a flash in the pan, no pun intended.
I just saw a new poll results on Twitter, and it shows Bernie ahead at 24%, with Bloomberg right behind him at 20%, and Biden and Buttegeig both below Warren on the list. I think that they might end up going for Bloomberg as the Democratic nominee, because none of the others have done very well at all, even though most of them have been campaigning for the best part of a year. It is possible that he might choose Hillary as a running mate, because she did so well running against Trump before, and none of the Democrats are apt to think that Bloomberg would “suicide himself” after election; so they would probably be okay with either Hillary or Michelle Obama to be his running mate.
