Grand Central Station, in the 1920’s before tall skyscrapers obscured the windows and blocked out the sunlight.
I drove through the town where this was cast on May 1, 1956 and was shot at. The town was a commie bastion and they were celebrating May Day. I had U.S. government license plates and that did not set well. I took off like a bat out of hell to say the least.
That must have been quite an undertaking, so it needed a $10 word. I wonder if all the cars were left or right-handed steering & controls. Imagine trying to drive on the right if your steering wheel is also on the right. Yikes.
This picture is from the Great San Francisco Earthquake and fine. It look like no one is rushing home (or maybe they live there ?), but they are just sitting around and watching the whole city go up in flames.
