I do too. the guests are sometimes members who haven't logged into their account, but more often I think they are people who have found the forum through various search engine queries, so that interests me.
Often I'm logged in all day and I haven't had to do the log in. Could it be because I have a shortcut to the forum, I wonder? I do recall having to log in every time when I first joined until I checked the 'Remember Me' box.
I also like to see what threads the spiders are in. As for logging in, the forum saves cookies that might help log you back in, but the cookies also keep you from being logged out every time you click on another page. Operating systems, browsers, and the various security applications that might be installed or made active on your computer will effect this. Sometimes when I return to the forum, I find that I am logged in, but usually, I have to log back in. I figured it had to do with the amount of time that I was gone, but I've never considered that to be a problem. I have a password saver that usually fills that stuff in for me, but it doesn't do that every time. Sometimes I have to enter my username and password. In fact, on my MacBook, I have a fingerprint ID thing that is supposed to log me into places but sometimes I have to use my username and password. It's not a big deal. There are probably dozens of things or more, that can have an effect on that kind of thing, but most of them have to do with your computer or browser settings.
Exactly how it works, from experience - I'm logged out if inactive for half hour but 2 clicks and I'm back in
how can i put a short cut on my desk top using google---i am not techy so explain it to me like i am 5 years old
I don't disconnect, but the page tends to jump around when I am typing causing me to make typos or lose my train of thought.
Dunno about anyone else but all I do is hit s or se and it comes up as the main suggestion. I hit enter and puff....up comes SoC. Of course, since I’m a frequent flyer here is why it comes up as the first suggestion but even if I went to another site more frequently it would still appear as a second or third.
Today for the first time I tried logging in from my tablet. I was going along and all of a sudden I was kicked off. I just tried again and it won't let me login unless I accept cookies. I know nothing about cookies on my tablet.
What OS are you using on your tablet? Example: If it’s an Apple tablet / IPad just go to Safari in settings and unblock cookies. I think the same thing applies to Windows Explorer etc.
it's an LG using Android. Nothing about cookies. Like I said it was working fine then stopped when I went back said I had to allow cookies.
