@Hal Pollner OK! You remember plenty! One thing which amazed me was learning just how much power is lost as reactive power in transmitting high-voltage long distances. Worked part-time for the Bureau of Reclamation in Boulder City while finishing college. There, they monitored the entire Western Grid, in proximity to Hoover Dam. The losses were in the hundreds of thousands of watts daily. For that reason, technology was applied to use D.C. instead of A.C., thus only encountering I (squared) R loss. The problem, of course, is to convert the D.C. back into A.C. without reverting to use of electromechanical devices: they use thousands of Thyristors in series, today's lines running 500 kilovolts D.C. or higher! I dreamed of becoming a sponsored professional skateboarder. Not realizing that this was just the beginning of a host of wonderful experiences.
An Airline Stewardess...and a Nurse. As I got older I also decided neither of these careers would work out for me because I hate flying and at that time all the Nurses wore totally white uniforms...and I hate totally white clothing.
I wanted to be a Funeral Director & Embalmer and own my own Mortuary. I was a Funeral Director/Embalmer but never could afford to buy my own business.
I wanted to be a (hot dog) Fireman! My dad was a Fireman, (the crewman who maintains the boiler fire for steam locomotives.) Hal

Entomologist. From the time I could walk, I was fascinated with bugs and spent years catching them, collecting them, studying them; but I really hated spiders. Still do.
PFG was a client of mine. I helped them develop their small group dental products quite some time ago.
Welcome to the forum Katrina. Did you become an Entomologist @Katrina Anderson? I have left you a personal message. Just click the envelope top of page.
I too have been fascinated by our smallest creatures.. perhaps not for the same reasons as you. I used to catch cicadas and Christmas beetles. I too hate spiders. They terrify me.. perhaps more than snakes and we have some deadly ones in my country.
