I never thought much of one until I saw an add for a place specializing in foot-long chili-dogs. Have not had one in years. That's my bucket list for now. Got to grow it.
Our Bucket List included: a trip to Niagara Falls, Washington D.C. (Capitol area), NYC, Paris, England and Venice, but seriously doubt any of those places will happen.
I don't have a bucklist. I thought about came up with nothing. If I had one it would be filled/completed but one would say they were dreams or goals in life. I did watch the movie though. Sad.
When spending time outside lately when it's been nice. I ponder over things that i could do and need to do, for one, my wood fence in the backyard is in need of staining, to do both sides will be around 480 feet. Have a bad spot in my grass that a very persistent weed is starting to takeover, on a unhappy note, this weed is making its' way into my yard from the neighbours, have tried weed spray and roundup and a homemade spray. I'll fence it off and try roundup again, if it dies, i'll sow grass back, if it doesn't, i'll try a vegetation control that prevents anything to grow, put down landscaping stones, and things of interest, oak barrels, maybe some half barrels, solar lights, wheels, see what i can find, hopefully, free stuff. I'm going to need a big bucket for my outdoor list..
Don't have a list. Have done about everything I wanted to do. Speaking of dogs, I had a couple of chili dogs tonight for supper. They were not foot longs but good never the less.
There are things I'd like to do and places I'd like to go but, for the most part, the ones that are doable have already been done and the ones that aren't are merely fantasies.
I am of an age when a bucket list can be tested without consequences. There's not time to become an alcoholic. Life in jail for murder would be five years, (full board and lodgings with instant medical care.) Becoming an unpleasant misery will be ascribed to dementia. Butter, unlimited cream cakes can be consumed, my zimmer will take the short-term strain. I contributed to Global warming but will not reap those consequences. Every year my money increases in value because there's less time to spend it so a realistic aim is a glass sided hearse, jewel studded, solid mahogany coffin and a paid set of dignitaries to attend my funeral for show.
So all this chili-dog talk made me pull into a Sonic on my way home from the mall earlier. I placed my order at the drive thru (chili dog with onions, no cheese) and pulled around. The line was long and I waited. And waited. And then waited some more. I sat there wasting gasoline for nearly 10 minutes and only 1 car got served. I pulled out of line and drove home without my chili dog. I have never seen such poor service at a drive-thru, and it was around 2 p.m. so not even a "lunch rush." I won't go back there again.
Was delighted to discover this thread. Am appalled at how few bucket lists there are. I am a single male senior, but not dead above the shoulders yet. Here's my bucket list: (Assistance, advice appreciated, ESPECIALLY ABOUT TX HOME BASE.. Naysayers forgetaboutit) 1.Find a caravan or senior “tribe” or an active female partner/companion (78 – 82 YO) 1.Find new home/home base – TX, or AZ.( Or Expatriate?) .Yes both items are equal in my list; Ready to drive within 24 hours. 3. RV for 3 or 4 years. Explore TX, NM, AZ +. Or more snowbirding. (I am Escapee member, HOWA aficianado, joining FMCA) 4. Revisit Salty Dawg, 4th Avenue, Captain Cooke, the “Bake”, See Fireweed on Kenai. Maybe get to Wrangell 5. Central America 2 – 3 months, including Machu Picchu. Expatriate? 6. Revisit British Nat'l Museum, see Hadrian's Wall, Stonehenge. Stopover at Smithsonian Aviation Museum, Masonic Temple in Arlington. 7. Moselle River Cruise with Deutsche – speaking female companion. Berlin, Stuttgart, Budapest? 8. Fly MIG 15. Yes have to give this up because FAA isn't friendly about renewing pilot licenses for seniors. Anybody have a T33, T35, or T37?
