Lol, yes I'm familiar with those pork rinds. I've eaten them when doing low carb. There's a few bags in my daughter's pantry right now.

    She's always low carbing.

@Corie Henson , I looked up images for the pinakbet dish. I have never seen so many different versions of the same dish! Some looked delicious and some did not.

I love pork rinds, but I never concidered that they were low carbs? They are deep fried. Doesn't the grease make them high in calories?

I have hated boiled cut up slimy okra since I was six and was told I had to sit at the table until I ate it. That didn't happen, and my bottom was sore for a couple of days. Now I do like breaded fried okra, as long as they are crispy.

Maybe high calorie but low carb and people doing atkins don't watch calories as much as they watch carbs.

@Ina I. Wonder and @Ruby Begonia , I just looked at a pack my daughter has and these must be baked because the calories aren't too bad....9 BIG pieces are 80 calories, 300 mgs sodium and 0 carbs.

I had to cut out heavy carbs because of having IBS. I found that greasy foods bothers me as well, but spicy doesn't faze me at all. I can eat sweets, but I never been into them that much, I don't like cake, and I get tired trying to explain how anyone could not like cake at birthday parties.

@Chrissy Page , one Oreo cookie is just a little treat, and probablly not that many calories.

Our own pinakbet boasts of the crispy pork belly with the crackling rind. My husband would include northern vegetables like saluyot, a leafy vegetable that adds flavor. By the way, I forgot to mention bitter gourd as an essential ingredient and despite that name, it is not bitter at all if you know how to. When the sautee mix is ready, the vegetables are added and when the greens look cooked, the pork is added on top. It is a healthy meal and I love it... now, hahahaaah.

The only food that I hate to eat are the mussels. It is just that I don 't like the texture of this kind of shellfish especially its taste. Even though the members of my whole family like this very much I am the only one who is not eating when it is one of the foods that is being serve on the dining table during family gatherings.

@Chrissy Page , what do you call good carbs? That is something I have heard people speak of, but everyone seems to have different ideas of what those might be. So what makes some carbs good and some bad? I find that my tummy is intolerant of most carbs.
