I went to my usual grocery this morning. There seemed to be more employees re-stocking shelves so there might have been a lot of over-buying previously. There were no empty shelves that I could see. I spoke to others who went to Walmart and Redner's and they were out of eggs and other things. I guess it depends upon where you go. The girls at checkout were all wearing gloves. I'm stocked up now and will hunker down.

MY grocery shopping day is normally Saturday. I'll just be building up the reserves when I go each week. This past week-end the only things that I needed was some toilet paper, only had 3 rolls, and some canned beans. But on Sunday they were there.

Currently listening to the Governor of NY. He said that his office has gotten numerous complaints about what has been shut down in his state. He says that a large number of the complaints concern the shutdown of bars and nightclubs. That would be most Millennials, but some Gen X folks as well. The statement these folks are saying is: "What are we suppose to do for entertainment, Governor? We aren't Seniors that stay at home most of the time. We are active young people that clubs and bars depend on for their livelihood."

I read, on Sunday, that Kid Rock's Steakhouse/Nightclub, along with a few other Nashville nightclubs, were told to shutdown, but refused. These nightclubs were packed with young folks this last weekend. Yesterday, thru Kid Rock and his co-owner's lawyer, the lawyer said the steakhouse/nightclub will shutdown. However, they will have to figure out a way to pay employees that will be out of work during the shutdown. The other Nashville nightclubs will shut down as well.

My Honey and I were basically saying these same things to each other the other evening. He is also enjoying his two weeks because now he can work in the yard doing his "spring things". And I am thankful to have him home with me every day for a change too. I like to see him taking a nap when he would have been working...or just watching him sleep later than he usually does.

My haircut appointment rescheduled for a couple of weeks from now, one of the hairdressers just returned from a out of country trip, shop is closed till then. This affects three other technicians, that must really hurt, for the loss of income.

MY barber sent ou message yesterday that he's closed until further notice. One commentator wrote, in response, "time for a buzz cut". And I responded that I had just gotten my buzzcut which lasts me about 6 weeks.

Okay, on the radio this morning a few things piqued my interest but only in a strange way. (Yes, I’m strange and I like it that way.)

Las Vegas has closed the casinos for 30 days. Good thing @Tom Galty decided to waylay his plans otherwise he’d be playing the slots at a grocery store.

The President has asked for a trillion dollars in order to give the working population a paycheck since many are either on furlough or have had their hours shortened. The weird thing is that someone on Fox made a stupid statement saying that Americans do not need such a thing since the restaurants and bars will be closed. hummmmm...my question is, what about groceries, gas, rent, utility payments? Stupid statement.
And, as a side bar, since I used to work next door to the Shamrock (cat house in Lathrop Wells, Nev.) I wonder if the houses of ill repute will be closed and if the dear ladies will be receiving a check also? They are, after all, working girls.

Let’s see. Oh yeah, since the Kentucky Derby is either canceled or postponed, the status of being the winner of the Triple Crown is at risk. Funny bit of irony is that “Crown” in Spanish is......Corona.

The Commandant of the Redstone Arsenal recently stated “it would be highly unlikely that the virus will spread to the post.”. Well, there is only one (1) case reported in our county of which the Arsenal is a part of and guess where the one case is? Yep, the Arsenal. And if that isn’t bad enough, the only case is a lab tech at the post Pharmacy.

And for the “don’t know if it’s true” part of my post, it seems that there is a new label being handed out regarding people who keep cash in their homes. Whilst I thought it is always a good idea to have about a months worth of cash on hand for the just in case times, people who do that are now called, “Cash Hoarders”
Man, just when I thought I had beat all the labels, I now have to take my penny jar to the bank in order to avoid this new one.
Maybe it would be better if I had “Chrometophobia” (fear of money) than to be a cash hoarder.

I've mentioned the almost complete shutdown of European countries with the exception of system-relevant services such as health-care system, police, fire service, supermarkets, pharmacies, banks, etc. What I didn't know was that hairdressers/barbers belong to them.

There is a Health/Rehab facility, that we pass whenever we go to the north end of town, that has two reported coronavirus cases. One is a worker and the other is a patient. Lots of investigations going on. These are the only cases in our county.

Now, on top of this, we have a snowstorm coming in tonight into Friday AM. Some high winds, which will create blizzard conditions. Cheyenne, Wyoming is under a blizzard warning right now.

We have been, and will continue hanging pictures in our apartment. We both hate bare walls! We will also be setting up our Wii Game. That game at least gives us some exercise.

We will drive down the street to a local grocery store to see if they have either or both toilet paper and hamburger.

Now the President is talking about a stimulus check of $1000 dollars for every household and it could be $2000 (within two checks). Either way, we'd sure take it!

I could be wrong, but I am thinking it won't go to people on Social Security.

But, those Seniors on SS only should get it. Now, my SIL (wife's sister) is getting a school pension, as a teacher, but no SS. She didn't have SS taken out of her salary when she worked.

However, Ken, I really wonder how they will "pick and choose" those to get it, if that's what will be done.

I'm not saying that SS recipients won't get it, just that I suspect we won't. I'm thinking they are looking to send money to people who are employed by businesses that are shutting down for a couple of weeks, like restaurants, bars, and so on, and that they will consider that Social Security recipients aren't being put out by it. That's not true of all of us, of course. The owner of the directory my wife and I work at is concerned about the economy and that could affect our work and, if so, it would probably affect it forever, not just for a couple of weeks.
