@Lois Winters Thank you, I will be posting more of my work over time. This is a crocheted granny shawl.
I look forward to seeing it Chelly. I have a friend who is self taught and she does fantastic work. I did simple things. Mostly when I was studying in college to keep my hands busy and fingers flexible as note taking during lectures and research wore them out sometimes. No problem when typing them all up later, but sadly, I cannot type my crocheting up.
@Chelly Ali Stunning workmanship. I am one of those who do all sorts of handwork and sewing, so i strongly admire the amazing pieces that you create. yes, by all means, post your creations, will love to see them.
@Von Jones @Chelly Ali Both you gals carry the traits of creative eyes and hands. Keep posting your made treasures.....love seeing them..
I was about to say, "That don't look like no granny gown," until Al said what he did. So I'm not going to say it, but I'm thinking, 'that don't look like no granny gown.'
I don’t think that there are any age specifications about when a person can wear a shawl. Actually, it was probably older women who more often would wear a shawl in earlier times, because our bodies tend to not hold heat as well when we get older. I think that it just depends on what a person likes. Here is a picture of our dear departed Ina I Wonder in the lacy shawl that I knitted for her the winter before she passed away, and she loved wearing it. People not only wear them around the house for extra warmth, but some (like the one that @Chelly Ali made) is beautiful and could be worn with more formal clothes for an evening out, by someone of any age.
Very beautiful, and great colors ! Where do you get your patterns from, @Chelly Ali ? Do you use a pattern book, or find them on the internet. ? I used to h ave everything in those little Red heart booklets, but now, I mostly find something online and then print out the instructions.
