This Sunday is Super Bowl 50, Feb.7 at 4:30 EST (they changed it from 3:30) on CBS in the San Francisco Bay Area (Santa Clara) between the Carolina Panthers and the Denver Broncos! So let's all have a Super Bowl Party! Post your favorite commercials, halftime entertainment, and oh yeah…thoughts and opinions on the game! Bring Beer, Sweet Tea (from the Carolinas), food, and munchies if you want! Super Bowl Doritos Commercial…
Super Bowl Commercials ... remember these? http://www.superbowlcommercials2016.org/latest-updates/are-you-a-super-bowl-commercials-guru/
Not really my sport, but one thing intrigues me. I thought they always used Roman numerals for the Super Bowl, so why 50 rather than L? Perhaps L was just too short?
I was wonder that too, Tom, but I think you might be right. "L" all by itself loses the Roman Numeral feel and would cause confusion. Bonnie, YAY...Thanks for posting a fun quiz/game to get this party rolling!
Per the NFL.com website : "The NFL announced Wednesday that it will be called Super Bowl 50, rather than Super Bowl L. This will be the firstSuper Bowl in over 40 years to not use Roman numerals. The league revealed that news, in addition to the official logos for the game on Wednesday.. This will only be a one-time, one-year change away from using Roman numerals."
Interesting, Bonnie. And I don't think I've ever done so poorly on a quiz before . But it was FUN! I only got 7 right out of 23…I can usually GUESS better than that! It just goes to show how ineffective the multi-million dollar commercials were for me!
I'm just glad I'm leaving the area this week instead of next week, traffic is going to be horrible around here. The weather will also be nice, I looked ahead. After being rainy and chilly the past week by Sunday it will be lower 70's. I don't watch it though, especially with these 2 teams. I could care less.
Joe, haha Chrissy, truth be known, I don't watch much football either . But I'm all for any excuse to have a party and can rally at at a moments notice Since I'm from NCarolina and my daughter has her roots set in Denver, I thought I should rally this time. My daughter's into it. I was just going to do Super Bowl Commercials but decided to open it up and see if there is any interest….I'm not expecting many takers but we'll see what happens.
My sister lives in Colorado and 2 nieces live in Denver but don't have any preference in this game. The Broncos have won enough and the Panthers none so far.....am I right?
Right. They lost to the New England Patriots, Superbowl 2004, but haven't been in any other Super Bowls. Guess I'l go with the Denver Broncos this time lol.
Oh my goodness! Well I used to watch it, but not for a few years now... BUT I'd love to come to a Super Bowl party with ya'll... I'm really good with party food, so I'll bring... chili, nachos, and cheesecake... Oh, and I have a great recipe for Meatball Sliders. Wonder if I can talk @Krissttina Isobe into bringing some of those bacon wrapped scallops? If I can't get through @Lara Moss 's door without having a team to root for, my past experience was that I always loved the Broncos (to the horror of my friends with being in the state of the Steelers... well hey!)
What they will be wearing for the game ...like below, Broncos will be in white jerseys, Panthers in Blue ... if anyone cares . The biggest story line would be Peyton going out with a win, but Cam Newton probably doesn't care about that....
