This video is from a few days ago in Ohio, but I think that it is a trend that many other places are going to be picking up soon. These people are keeping their “social distancing” spaces , and carrying their American flags.
No wonder the Michigan governor banned American flag sales , she knows what is coming !

I think that this will help give our president the excuse he needs to start opening up the country again. Since each governor makes their own rules for each state, it should be possible for the states that are not having very many sick people to start letting people do things like shop and go to church again, or at least let them have the outside gatherings where they can keep the distance requirements.

When facts came out proving that the numbers were a lie, that was the beginning of the end, I think, at least as far as a large part of the population is concerned. Not for everyone, I'm sure, because there will always be those who will believe to the end.

Trump doesn't seem to be doing it but there is an out for him now. He could suggest that it's time to put the country back to work, kick Fauci to the curb, and let the states decide what they are going to do. Some states will withdraw their restrictions and prosper, while other states will suffer the financial consequences, and eventually be pressured into competing. Whatever the case, the states will be the ones making the decision.

I think that Fauci will be gone before too long. Someone tweeted that he should be fired, and although President Trump didn’t say anything about firing Dr. Fauci, he did re-tweet the one that the other person made. He is pretty good about letting people get themselves mired in the mud so that everyone can see what they are doing, and letting them do something that can be prosecuted.
The same thing is happening with the no-church governors. AG Barr told them not to stop church-goers, but some of them did anyway, and I just read this morning that Barr is probably going to prosecute them for it.

Even if Barr doesn’t do anything legally, there are so many voters that are Christians and mad about being denied and forbidden to go to church (while still being able to ride a public transportation bus, or shop at Walmart) that those mayors and governors who have been promoting the no-church rule, will be hated by people of both political parties, and not likely to be re-elected.

Barr seems to say a whole lot more than he actually does, but perhaps I'm being pessimistic.

And I am the eternal Optimist.......always hoping for the best. I hate feeling miserable, so I do my best to avoid looking at the downside more than necessary.
I guess the difference is that realistically, I look at both sides, and that is with my mind, to make a decision.
With my heart and my spirit, I am always hoping for the best outcome.

Then, if the country is reopened up and with drastic consequences, everyone can blame some of the folks on this forum. Right?

We all want the country to reopen, BUT, should be done at the right time.

I will say this again, and keep saying it...…...if it were one of your family or friends that contracted this virus and got extremely sick or even died, would you feel different about this whole thing???

Ken, you should read the article I read this morning online about all of the Seniors in Maine and how scared they are of the virus and/or contracting it. Apparently, Maine has a very large number of older Seniors living in the "boonies" there.

No one is saying that everyone HAS to come out, @Cody Fousnaugh , and you seem to consistently miss that point for some reason. If you, or anyone, wants to continue to self-isolate, for as long as you feel necessary, then there is no reason that you can’t continue to do that.

One of the people on this forum has announced that he is going to keep himself isolated for at least three months after any quarantine guidelines are over.
If he is that afraid of getting sick, or his health is that bad, and his doctors suggest that he does that, then he should do it.

This is something that happens EVERY single year, not just this year.
We have the flu that goes around every year, and people with weak immune systems or poor health stay inside, and often do not go to church or shopping. More people get sick (and die) from the flu than have died from this corona virus, it is just that none of those deaths are any longer attributed to the actual cause of death, such as pneumonia.
There is not any law enforcement happening, just common sense, and it has worked just fine every year.

No one is going to be dragged out of their houses, Cody. They are free to hide under their beds for as long as they wish. Even before this phony panic came along, I took precautions. Now that I am older, I don't like catching colds and I didn't enjoy the flu when I had it a couple of years ago, so I tend to avoid crowds, I wash my hands, and I pay attention to my health so that I can keep my immune system working. But this is nothing but a manufactured panic, and I am far more afraid of the intentions behind than of the virus itself.

Ken, did you read the online article about the older Seniors who live in remote areas of Maine? It was very interesting about the fear they have about the virus as well as how much they dislike the isolation now.

From what I've read, heard and researched, this virus is much, much more worse than any flu or pneumonia could be...….or, is my wife and I missing something? Apparently this virus spreads much, much faster than any other virus known right now.

IOW, folks, why are these professional doctors and scientists giving recommendations to President Trump and he is taking them. Obviously, some kind of sickness is going on in America and it seems to have been, and is, extremely serious.

Maine has the oldest population in the country. With the closure of our forest industry and decades of Democrat leadership, Maine has become a place for people to retire to. After high school or college, people move to another state, where they spend their adult life, often moving back to Maine when they retire. So, I am well aware of our aging population. I've mentioned before that people who live here in Millinocket are either retired or on welfare. I don't know which article you're speaking of, but most of what I have read has been little more than agenda-driven propaganda.

People in Maine are no smarter than people anywhere else, as evidenced by the fact that they vote Democrat, so yes, many of them are afraid, that being the whole point of the 24/7 media-government panic blitz. However, those who still have working brain cells mostly fear people coming here from other states, which has been the cause of pretty much every case of anyone testing positive here in Maine. I don't speak for Trump, so I won't even go there. I question him when I think he's wrong, and I support him otherwise.

Fauci needed to be booted, as soon as he showed himself to be an alarmist dweeb from another era. Yeah, he made his reputation combating the HIV scourge, if I recall correctly, but CV19 is an entirely different ballgame, no pun intended. Everything Fauci spewed forth, on TV, scared the heck out of people, needlessly, as I see it. Throw him out!

Too soon to open the country. First of all .. not all states have done the stay at home thing which is asinine. It is a proven fact that by isolating it slows the spread and in some areas has stopped it.

However .. getting cocky is the kiss of death.

Look what is happening in China ... yep .. it's all under control .. let's relax the rules .. and now .. it's all starting again.

Not everything is about the mighty $.

Lives are at stake here. Kill off the people and nobody will give a hoot about whether or not this country is open.

We are far from under control and it doesn't help that people aren't using their heads .. quarantine your butts for a short time and stop the crybaby antics. Look what can happen if you inconvenience yourself for a short time .. it's not rocket science !
