I don't understand the problem. Those who want to go back to work and go about their lives can do so, while those who feel safer hiding under their beds are perfectly free to do that, as well. People are about to do that anyhow.

No soldier wants to be the last one to get killed in a war, yet there are some civilians who do.

Boy, I knew this was going to be "one very, very controversial" thread!

What I do know is...…...my hair is getting longer and thicker. I don't think I've ever had my hair this long/thick before! It will never be down to my shoulders, but still long.

This is actually only one “hotspot”, and it is at the Smithfield processing plant. It would have been running, with all of the same people there, (just like other “essential businesses are doing), whether there had been a lockdown of South Dakota or not.
I linked an article to this in another thread yesterday, and they are saying that over 300 people who work in the Smithfield plant are considered to test positive for the virus.
It is NOT the whole state, and this is the ONLY hotspot in the state, plus it happens to be only in the CHINESE OWNED Smithfield meat processing plant. With the shipping lockdown, Smithfield can’t ship the pork products to China like it usually does, so my opinion is that this was somehow a contrived situation.

Even though they have Been working around covid patients around the clock, there doesn’t seem to have been any epidemics around hospitals reported.

It cracks me up when I hear the media reporting, every day, that "the numbers just keep rising." Well, how the hell are they going to get lower? No one is subtracting those who have recovered, and even those who aren't even sick are counted. Given that only a small percentage of the people in the country have been tested, it would be impossible for the numbers not to rise as more people are tested. The reporting is so obviously deceptive, and I can't understand why everyone can't see through it. The seasonal flu - also a pandemic nearly every year - seems to be far more dangerous.

If it's the scary "pandemic" word that frightens you, the common cold is often a pandemic.

Obviously, Ken, not everyone in America shares your, Yvonne and Bobby's feelings/views. There are those on this thread that don't.

Anyone who follows this thread, can tell that this can really upset you. But, "it is what it is".

Will just have to see what happens on the 26th, when our Colorado Governor decides what he's going to do and on the 30th when President Trump decides what he and his professionals decide to do.

They can protest all they want and at some point the people are going to be the winners because 93375646_2911860568903662_5527299052238012416_n-2.png

I think it's starting in Maine, too. Our governor just extended it for 30 days and someone told me that there were a bunch of people on the streets in Bangor. I'm not sure if that's what it was about but I don't know what else would have brought a bunch of people on the streets. Bangor isn't known for protests. During the Occupy protests, the Bangor contingent would be from 2-6 people.

Maine's not as bad as Michigan. We can garden. We can do yardwork. We can go for walks, go fishing, and so on. We want restaurants and businesses open again.

The problem organizing something in Maine is that the media wouldn't cover it, and most people don't watch or listen to local media anyhow. Facebook is a common venue for local news and they would remove anything that might be interpreted as encouraging a protest against the economic shutdown. I posted a graphic that I made that was a JUST SAY NO graphic, adding "It's not just for drugs anymore." and Facebook immediately took it down, posting a message telling me that it was under review. I guess they decided that it wasn't controversial, and put it back up. It was intended to be controversial but not obvious.

Yeah, there was an organized protest called ReOpen Maine. Facebook shut the page down and removed posts about it from peoples' walls. Intended as an in-car protest, apparently, it went further than that. IMO, an in-car protest comes pretty very close to defeating the purpose.

    Now .. consider this:

Today you leave your house, quietly, like I don't exist.

You don't like being told what to do.

You will do what you want and how you want.

    You run into acquaintances.

    They don't cough, they're fine.

It doesn't hurt to keep the distance and get close for a chat.

You're joking with them and then you go home.

You don't see me, you don't feel me, yet you brought me home with you.

In the middle of your family, I'm calmly choosing my nest.

After a few days, I attack.

Your wife or other family member or your best friend is exhausted.

    Their bodies feel heavy.

    Nothing alarming, you think.

    A normal cold.

There is the usual fever and cough and sore throat, but you... you stay blind and deaf.

Inside I check everything and like a wizard, I take them for a ride.

Look... they suffocate, they panic, they suffer.

You will contact the emergency services.

In the hospital I am the ruling King.

They only talk about me here.

They all fear me: nurses, doctors, paramedics... I know. I scare them all.

Your wife / family member / neighbor is getting weaker, but unfortunately... no resources, no places, no ventilator, no masks.

    No support.

No family... they are alone in their bed.

    I feel like they're scared.

They cry, they're cold, they feel lonely, it's dark.

    They say they love you.

They fall asleep and I... I attack harder.

Everything goes ... heartbeat, blood pressure, no air, and then nothing more.... I have decided that for her sleep will forever.

    You couldn't say goodbye.

Like everyone else, I took her in the dark.

There will never be another time again for you or them.

I thought you were warned, MY NAME IS.. COVID 19 allias CORONA.

And tonight with your help, I could kill someone you love.

And you... all you can do is cry and regret.

Stay in selfish bubble - respect the rules in your own interest and not the rules that could help someone you love.

    Selfish... it doesn't fit here!

This should be your wake up call people ... get a clue .. get a grip .. be responsible .. if not for yourselves .. do it for other around you !

That's intended to pull at the heartstrings and it's effective in that, however something similar could be written about driving your car, going for a walk, sending your children to school, not buying the most expensive home security system on the market, tending your garden, or pretty much anything that people do in the course of living their lives because more people are killed in traffic accidents each year than from COVID-19, and with or without a virus, there are numerous dangers to your children at school, and home invasions are a very real threat. Tending your garden, you could be stung by a bee, bitten by a snake, or abducted by a serial killer. In fact, the exact scenario could be used to describe the absolute nuttiness in ever going outdoors again because the seasonal flu kills more people than COVID-19.

Do you wash your mail and packages with an appropriate disinfectant, then quarantine it for two weeks before touching it, because you don't know who might have touched that package.
