Now Pete, just because we disagree on many levels doesn’t mean I don’t love ya. Heck, I even put a lot of likes on ya so there you go!! Why, if you were to run for city councilman in N.York, I’d even send in one of those mail in ballots with an x right next to your name.
Ah, a "never Trumper." Sorry Ed, but that is lame. Do you support socialism and open borders? What about the policies of each candidate, are they cast aside because of TDS?
So when he put Jennifer Huston up in Trump Tower for a year when her family was murdered that' nothing in your eyes. There's more but if you're willing to say that's nothing you';re delusional. Joe Biden, bordering on dementia, is better. Really??
Go for it Bobby, your ballot would be just as valid as my candidacy, as I live thirty five miles from anything called a city, and more than 5 hours from the great southeastern NY cesspool.
Ah yes, the nearly remote life that I do long for. (sigh) If it were only possible. Perhaps then, there is a town nearby who needs a mayor?
Good afternoon to all- Peter- hello to you. Actually I don't give a hoot in hell what others think, and I don't care who disagrees with me. And anyone who questions my right to live here in my homeland can try and make me leave- but I suggest you make final arrangements before you come to do so. And as far as intelligence goes, I'll match letters after my name with anyone. Those who defend tRump can do that till they go blue in the face, but that doesn't change a thing. He is still a vile, mean, corrupt, and profoundly ignorant man. And I was a teacher for a long, long time. I never despair. Things will get better if we just work hard at it. good day to all- Ed
Now, now Ed. Actually, I think you really do care. You see, a lifetime of teaching brings about the strange idiosyncratic feeling of the need to be right, versus wrong. I know that feeling quite well. I have never met one professor, instructor, teacher nor mentor worth his pension who has ever wanted to be found in error yet you write that you do not care. If that possibility were even remotely true then there is also the possibility that you might believe your education to be complete and nothing can be found lacking which would be extremely narcissistic would it not? Why, that would put you in the same paradigm as your proposed description of he whom you despise so much. After all, you did write at the very beginning of the thread that you did not wish to offend so that by itself would lead me to believe that you are, after all, human and not some automaton. Now, whether or not you have as many letters in front and in back of your name as I do is one thing I fear that I do not care about. What I do care about is whether one represents those letters throughout his or her life. Achieving those letters was the easy part, showing that I earned them and continue to earn them throughout my life is the hard part. Oh yes, get out and vote folks!! You can vote for someone you know little about or vote for someone you have gone great lengths to know every detail that is humanly possible to attain. Man, I just can’t make up my mind which of those categories to pick!
Good afternoon to all- Bobby- I never set out to offend anyone. There's no conversation in giving offense. But once I know that someone holds a thought or position that is very much in conflict with what I hold, then I don't go out of my way to consider that person of much importance. I just let them be and go my own way. And I have lived my life in the effort to help others, mind my own business, and leave myself in no person's debt. I find that the subject of this whole conversation- Donald J. Trump- has lived his whole life in the total opposite direction of my life. And the thing I hate most- and that's not a word I use lightly in any situation- hate- about this evil man- is the effect he has on others. For the people who support him and his twisted life, he justifies their own bad behavior and efforts to hurt others. If HE can say and do bad things to others, then THEY can do that too. And for me who has detested him from the first learning I had of him in his "business" dealings and corrupt practices to obtain properties and projects which would make him obscenely wealthy and powerful at the expense of others who did not have the power to fight back to his "Trump University"- a perversion of a good title if ever there was one- to his revolting political operations and efforts to control the country- I have come to hate the man. And I do not like the fact that he has caused me to hate anyone- even someone who so richly deserves hatred as he does. And the more I learn about Donald J. Trump, the more I hate him. I'm not proud of this hate, but to deny it would be a lie. And unlike Trump, I try to avoid lying. good night to all- Ed
I do humbly submit to you sir that a teacher, of all people and of all professions, is that one person that others can depend on to value each and every individual no matter what their thought processes are or position he or she takes on a given subject. God forbid that any of us should be hated by anyone because of our errors in life or our successes but the chances are, someone does. But what of that? Do I disregard the man or woman based on their emotional, academic or professional view of me or do I still value their input? To disregard and set a human being aside for any reason is to discontinue a line of education no matter how little or how great that information might be. Now, all that said, has there been students and other people that I didn’t and do not presently like? Yes sir, that I can freely admit and frankly, I have no regrets on that scale. On another level, were there any students or others who I have so totally dismissed that I gave them no real chance to learn from me, nor I from them? Not one. Hatred is a terrible malady and horribly infectious my friend. Ya don’t have to like someone, but hatred will eventually close all the doors to what love once opened: the art and love of learning. Vote with wisdom and not with the heart. Biblically, above all things the heart is deceitful and terribly wicked: who can know it?
Bobby- I did not set out to hate Donald Trump. But his actions and words took me to that point. And while hatred may be a terrible malady, it is a deserved and appropriate reaction to a curse like Donald Trump. good night to all- Ed
