Donald Trump’s words and actions did not drive you anywhere. You took that trip all on your own and seemingly quite willingly. It’s like saying that someone stole your joy. The problem is, joy cannot be stolen; it has to be given away. When hate enters the mind, joy just seems to leave doesn’t it? You’re giving away too much.

Ah, then after playing the victim card, you somehow believe you can close the thread? Are you denying any and all comments just because you are no longer interested or is it possible that when you read the truth and your comfort zone is found lacking, you have a tendency to shy away from it? Well, not to do harm but you did write that D. Trump drove you to such and such which is by definition a victim mentality. Not that I hold that against you or anyone else mind you, because like alcoholism, once it is recognized it can be beaten. English composition! Such an honorable course which I truly loved with all my heart. Tell me though, whilst teaching composition, do you also believe it to be your task to teach about political policies and figures or even psychology? I only ask because it has happened all too often that whilst attempting to speak in front of young college students, some of their minds were already set by some wayward teacher in high school. Why, some of my question and answer periods were fraught with terribly biased ideas with no factual base. I digress horribly. What I am asking about is that geography, science or even an English lit teacher who thought it their duty to voice their opinions whilst asking for no research into the matters they spoke of. Can you imagine such a thing? A teacher, the ultimate tool which when applied correctly can induce wonder or a stagnant mind, but uses that position for their own agenda! Tell me, when did you stop teaching? I mean, you have had a prime opportunity here but have given very little. Sad.

Nope, just trying to figure out who or rather what is really behind such hatred. If you read back Nancy, Ed opened the door for such questioning and I felt obliged to walk through it. After all, it wasn’t I who wrote that I would match letter for letter behind my name. It was he.

And when you state that I have given very little, I expect that I have provided as much or more to help my students in my nearly 40 years of teaching than you have in whatever you did with your life. Ed, Don't mean to bust your bubble, but letters behind your name prove nothing. Only that you had the financial wherewithal to gain an education. In some folks that equates to being educated beyond their capacity to learn. Letters behind your name lend no special gravitas to your opinion unless you are opining on a specific area within your particular field. I was kind of hoping for an ally for the progressive side, but seeing as how my name only has a AAS behind it interpreted as ASS by most,I guess I am still the Lone Ranger.
Did all those letters behind your name teach you how to speak down from your lofty perch or were you born with that condescending attitude?
Well Peter- I had the financial wherewithal to get letters after my name because I worked for it. I did work-study on campus, did photographic work for the college newspapers and yearbooks and other publications, and spent my summers on factory assembly lines sweating to make money for college. I come from a very lower class Arkansas family with little ability to help me through college- other than encouragement. So don't try to paint me as the spawn of a rich family who bought my letters for me. And letters after my name do not lend any special gravitas to my opinion, but they do mean I was willing to work pretty damned hard to get those letters. There ya go again Ed with the “I’s”. I have, I was, I am I whatever. Is that not one of the very first items you said that caused you to hate D. Trump? His habit of saying I? Actually, it is Obama who holds the world record for the number of I’s in a speech but who is indeed counting. Now, to be on the honest side, how can you submit an indictment without knowing what the opposition to your belief does? I mean, you did say you have taught more people than I but you have absolutely no clue with whom you are addressing do you? That is what I mean about doing your research Ed. You place an accusation which you cannot prove because you have nothing to go by but still, you make the accusation. That one item leads me to believe that you indeed do not have any idea of the true nature of he whom you hate. Perhaps, you are only aping those whom you admire.
