Why do so many women wear earrings that are almost as big as their head? Why does anyone feel the need to wear three necklaces, eight rings and ears loaded with metal ? I feel like maybe a feeling of insecurity? Personally I just never have been that big of fashion freak I guess. One set of ear rings and wedding band is about my limit anymore. On occasion add a necklace.Too much and I feel weighed down- especially in the summer. No biggie - just wondering what fashion type do you notice ?
I'll join in on the fashion bloopers, Gloria. The fingernail expose' is what I've been noticing a lot lately amid this pandemic. I see a lot of cashiers tap, tap, tapping with their highly paid for nails. Nails they probably spent an hour or so getting done. Why? Don't get mad at your children if they should runaway when you come after them . Nail techs deserve every penny. My son wanted to gift me with a manicure and pedicure for Mother's Day. I said, "No, no, Nanette. Give me a Lowe's gift card. I do my own nails."
It would drive me crazy to wear a ring on every finger, sometimes heavy rings at that. I'm not sure how some people don't knock themselves out when they scratch their noses. I only wear one ring and I'm not even wearing that these days since I left it at my sister's house a few months ago and haven't got it back yet. I like bracelets but I never wear more than one. Since I never wear a watch now, I seem to feel the need for something on my left wrist.....hence, a bracelet. Usually I take a long bead necklace and loop it around and around my wrist for a big loose bracelet. I like "statement" bracelets more than something delicate. Earrings? One hole in each earlobe. I usually wear small diamond studs, but will sometimes wear something "dangly" if I'm in the mood. I don't understand the giant hoops that reach down to the shoulders. I'd get my arm stuck up to the elbow in those! I'd really like a small nose stud, but probably won't ever get one. I don't get those nose rings that make you look like you're a bull being led off to slaughter. And as Von mentioned, those fingernails? The clerk at the pharmacy last week had ridiculously long gaudy nails. She was really having a hard time typing. How does she keep them clean?
Agree with every post ! And how women get on with long nails is a mystery to me, I let them grow 'once' and couldn't do a bloomin' thing that needed doing
I agree with all the posts. When I was working I wore more jewelry, watch, etc. The only jewelry I wear consistently now is a very fine chain necklace with a miniscule diamond and small hoop earrings. I'm so used to not wearing jewelry that even my wedding rings bother me, though I put them on when going anywhere. Wearing necklaces and bracelets is more bothersome in the summertime; I can't even wear a Fitbit when I'm hot... my arm sweats under the band. Those extra-long fake nails give me the creeps. I know this is disgusting, but I have to wonder how their bathroom adventures work out with those things. (Sorry for the visual. )
But the hat with the rose plastered on her forehead... And what purpose does that hat serve??? Regarding the fox: my mother had one of those. Used to drive our dog nuts.
That is more of a "fascinator" than a typical hat. https://www.allure.com/story/history-of-fascinators
