No fans in the stands and a team of kneelers on the sidelines during the national anthem. I think I'll stream Heidi.

Ed, what's the difference between "streaming" and "watching"?

Not by me, Ed. But then, I was done with the NFL a couple of years ago when they didn't nip that controversy in the bud. Drew Brees' apology was the nail in the coffin as far as I'm concerned. Good riddance, overpaid divas.

    Good evening to all-
Of course, here in Alabama, the football will be just fine. the Tide is loading up for another national championship, and the folks will there to holler. I will not be there. I hope to be on the water by then catching some big fish.

    good night to all- Ed

When I moved to the country, my only TV option was satellite. I got rid of it a while ago and put up antenna. The only thing I miss is college sports...football and basketball. There are so few games played on national tv.

I've been to my share of Redskin games at RFK Stadium during the Joe Gibbs era. My viewing tapered off and like many others, the kneeling killed it for me. Kaepernick was only trying to impress his SJW Muslim girlfriend. Why the heck would she have been a speaker at the UN???

I'm about finished with professional sports.....bunch of overpaid whiners. They get paychecks of a gazillion dollars a year and all you hear is "I can't play because (fill in the blank......my thumb hurts, I can't find shoes that fit right, my elbow hurts, my ego hurts, I'm protesting because of __________).

My all-time favorite was years ago when the Orlando Magic players were threatening to sit out because they claimed the coach wasn't "inspiring them sufficiently". WHAT? A paycheck the size of the GNP of a medium-sized country isn't "inspiration" enough? I would love to see what would have happened if *I* had called into work and said, "Sorry, Boss, I can't come to work today. I'm just not feeling inspired these days and it's your fault". I would have been down at the unemployment office begging for benefits before the day was out.

And now it's starting at the college level. They want to be paid to play. Well, get a job then.

    Marginally more so than baseball.

Back in the early 80s I went to a game at Memorial Stadium in Baltimore. The Orioles were playing the Detroit Tigers. I went with a group from work. I did it for the social event, not for the sporting event. (It was a French company. The young French workers were a lot of fun, but that's a different story.)

The game started at 8PM, and there were on & off rain delays. We were still there at 1AM when play was mercifully called. Apparently that was bedtime for American League players. By that time I was scratching my eyeballs out. I must have walked the circumference of that stadium a dozen times like a caged tiger.

    Never again.

I feel the same - was much better years back when big bucks wasn't the goal and achievement was

That's what makes college sports so much more watchable.

But they keep talking about giving the players a share of the revenue they generate. I'm not sure how I feel about that. There's arguments to be made on both sides...and it's become big money.

Well, they do get a free education if they are on scholarship and all the co-eds they can handle, and a shot at the NFL, but if they get a playing ending injury, that's out, so it's hard to say. They have no union like the NFL does so it might be tough. Something seem reasonable but how much?
