Got ourcar insurance bill Friday. The Gecko gave us 15% off. We carry full coverage on both of our vehicles and pay 6 months at a time.

Registration and inspection both expire on my truck May 31rst. I mailed the application to Albany a month ago. Got nothing back. Supposedly New York has extended all registrations and inspections for the duration. W'ell see how that goes!

I got an email from my carrier that I'll be getting a 40% discount for premiums paid from 3/15 to 5/15.

I dropped Allstate several years ago. I would be surprised if they followed suit of offering discounts.

Well since at Allstate "you only pay for what you need" you're not giving them enough to discount you. :p:p

I got a discount and then they raised the rates. Almost a wash. Whoopee!

We didn’t even get a discount, and then they raised my rates, almost 30% !
The letter that they sent me said that they had done a title search, and it showed that my vehicle had “severe damage”. It is an old truck (2000 Ranger), so it has some body dents, but hasn’t been in any accidents.
When I called the reporting company, they informed me that way back in 2003, the pickup had been sold through an auction, and on the information, it said frame damage.
Since that was almost 20 years ago, and the little pickup has been fine and still being driven for all of these years, I can’t see how they could call the damage “severe”, or how they could decide to charge me a much higher rate suddenly now, after all of this time. I didn’t own the vehicle until just a few years ago, so I have no idea what actually happened to it back in 2003.

Yvonne, is that full coverage insurance? For a vehicle of that age, I'd probably choose to carry liability insurance only.
