I am seeing on Twitter that Dan Bongino says that Minneapolis has just unanimously voted to defund their police force. A few days ago, they were begging President Trump for money because of the last damage that was done there by the rioters, and now, they won’t even have any police to try and stop it anymore. It is one thing to get rid of corrupt or brutal police, but another to totally defund and eliminate the whole police force.
This is insane that these idiots expect the rest of the country to pay for this. Thank goodness Trump is in office. Any of those other idiots would gladly fund this crap.
Once again the Minneapolis Police are special kind of stupid. They have been under several federal consent decrees for decades, due to their sheer numbers of abuses. Each and every decree has been ignored for all practical purposes. The city after years of paying out millions in lawsuits, loss of millions in federal funding, due to the ,mostly police unions, unwillingness to right the ship, have finally decided that the only way to clear this den of snakes, is to burn it to the ground and start from scratch. Could you please explain what trump or any POTUS would have to do with a single city and a single state? The president, any president is not elected to micromanage Minneapolis,or any state. On second thought more power to the jerk, the more he oversteps his bounds the greater chance a few more people will open their eyes to his malfeasance, and remove this skid mark from the Peoples House.
@Peter Renfro For the past 35 years, excepting one independent term, Minneapolis has been under the rule of Democrat mayors and their appointed police chiefs. It's not "the police department" that's stupid, it's the voters who continue to put idiots in charge. The police department is not an independent entity. They are under the rule of direct-appointed leadership. 35 years, and continued abuse of the citizenry. If you look at these situations across the nation, you'll see a common [Democrat] theme. Regarding Trump's boundaries...the lack of boundaries is on the part of the Democrats in charge of the City of Minneapolis, who gave a green light to those who destroyed their city, and then thought the rest of the country should pay for it. I did not imply that Trump was--or should be--in charge of that mess. I was stating that he will take the lead in saying "No," whereas a Democrat administration would take the lead in prying our collective wallets open, throwing dollars at these areas like so many 3rd world countries.
Great post John! My one fear is if the Fed doesn’t reach into the taxpayer pockets to help out with the problems Minneapolis faces, those with agenda driven deep pockets such as a Soros backed BLM will. A very serious game of chess is being played using Minneapolis as the stage and in just three moves thus far the king, our Constitutional Republic, is already in jeopardy.
Ya see Pete, that’s the problem. You argue whilst others try to build a working dialog and maybe debate an issue. Note: Ya can’t burn electrons.
The riots in heavily Democrat-controlled cities indicates that people who live under Democrat control are unhappy.
Private Security Given To Minneapolis City Council Members Who Support Defunding The Police Hypocrisy, thy name is Progressive.
Let's defund BLM. I have problems with them. Most of the rank and file are moderate whites. Most of the leaders are radical blacks. Isn't that a peculiar kind of racism? All Lives Matter.
