Tinted windows (except for tinted windshields) should be declared unlawful and should be replaced with 100% transparent windows at the owners' cost. Hal
A small amount of tint in windshield. The others I don't care about. I can ember one time in Boston the windshield had such a heavy tint that I cOuld not see the driver. So I waited for car to drive off before crossing the street
You sound like me, Al. I will not step in front of a car unless I make eye contact with the driver. This is especially true with Right Turn On Red, where the driver is looking off to the left (the opposite direction of his/her travel) and then hitting the accelerator to turn right, while pedestrians crossing the vehcile's path have the right of way.
There is some rule in Texas about the percentage of tint that is legal, but I'm too lazy to look it up and besides I don't care.
I would rather the windows on the Ford pickup that I use be a Lot more tinted than they are. There is at no time when there isn’t some sort of tool, paperwork etc sitting in the jump seat section of the truck or in the passenger area and clear glass is an open invitation for a break in. As it is, when we go shopping we use the GM pickup which has fully tinted windows so when we go from store to store, I’m a little more comfortable with leaving things in the back seat area of the pickup. There’s less temptation to break in if ya can’t see what’s there. Now, who here hasn’t been traveling north on a cloudless day at about 4 o’clock in the afternoon? Throwing that visor over to the driver’s side window impedes a lot of vision and in some traffic that can be a little dangerous. I would much rather the window be photo tinted so I don’t have to use the visor so much. Now, why Hal wants everyone to have clear glass is anyone’s guess. Maybe tinted windows makes it harder to see pretty women?
I think tinted windows are associated with crims - I think the windshield is enough, unless lightly tinted
My Ram has tinted windows. I like them. Whyare they associated with crime? I thought all late model vehicles had some level of tint. If I am ever pulled over I lower all my windows for the officers comfort and my safety. So what has caused this outburst Hal? Just a wild hair,or something more concrete?
I think that is probably the case here, too, when they are almost blacked out. I am not sure that windows that dark are actually legal; but the lighter tinted windows are good, as far as I am concerned. They really make a difference in filtering out unwanted sunlight when you are driving, and are usually darker right at the top of the windshield, where is helps, but does not impede visibility.
