You must remember this A kiss is just a kiss, a sigh is just a sigh The fundamental things apply As time goes by And when two lovers woo They still say, "I love you" On that you can rely No matter what the future brings As time goes by Moonlight and love songs Never out of date Hearts full of passion Jealousy and hate Woman needs man And man must have his mate That no one can deny It's still the same old story A fight for love and glory A case of do or die The world will always welcome lovers As time goes by
My band played "As Time Goes By" at many, many parties. I played bass guitar, sang lead. Yep, a truly great tune!
Nope, but do know New York, New York by Frank Sinatra and a few others he sang. Perhaps I'm just too young to know the songs you know? Actually, wife and I remember seeing a performer on America's Got Talent sing New York, New York.............absolutely fabulous, but public voting was way to young to get him anywhere. He dressed like Frank also.
That classic was written by the great Hoagy Carmichael, who also gave us "Stardust" and other perennials. Hal I also played Fender and Upright Bass in our Senior Citizens Dance Band. Hal
Hal, very, very neat that your drummer is a lady. I played a nice Ludwig set of drums many, many years ago. I've seen some terrific women playing drums, like the one that played with the Go Go's, the one with the Bangles, the one with the Runaways and Sheila E. with Prince among others. The Go Go's were one of my absolutely favorite female rock bands. They really did ROCK!! Had to go back into this post, because Karen Carpenter was a heck of a drummer as well.
