A friend of mine posted this to Facebook a moment ago and, while I've said most of this before, I think it's said rather well here.

A friend asked me why I don’t take coronavirus and the mask situation seriously. I told her that I do take the virus seriously. I believe there is a virus and that it is dangerous. But the people who are disseminating the information to us have a long, long track record of lying to and showing dismissive contempt for American citizens as a whole.

At one point, the disease was supposed to have a 5% death rate. The death rate has now been reduced to less than 1/3 of 1% worldwide. The truth is I’m not opposed to masks at all. Much like carrying a firearm, I don’t and won’t shame anyone for deciding to wear one or not. Sort of a “my body, my choice” situation I suppose.

However, when considering the trustworthiness of information coming from our politicians, I’ve been unable to reconcile the fact that 200,000 people protesting in the streets are met with little to no concern, but a bar, restaurant or hair salon with 10 people in it could be disastrous. The idea that a Trump rally of 18,000 people is a significant risk but a group of 20,000 students tearing down statues isn’t, leaves me perplexed. (Ok, not really; I understand perfectly what is going on.)

Further, how could you possibly take anyone seriously who mandates that free citizens stay at home and wear masks in public but also calls for the acceptance of millions of immigrants entering our society illegally with no record of immunizations against more common and deadly diseases every day?

The truth is that our political “leaders,” just like with guns, drugs, our national debt, or sex trafficking, have absolutely no idea what they’re talking about and no plan outside of what’s handed to them 6 seconds before they reach the podium.

So I choose to protect myself as I see fit. If anyone doesn’t like it, I’m ok with that. Just think of it as a “protest.” That seems to be ok with many people! Ok? Great!

Well, we just got back from the gym and there are some changes.
First, it was everyone has to wear a mask except for those in the pool. Obviously, those like my wife who use the pool are to use the distancing thing.
Everyone else, with no exceptions had to wear a mask.

Do note: the gym has a lot of doctors and nurses who come in to do whatever and they too had to wear masks whilst in the exercising area.

Now, the new thing is that those who use the cardio machines like the treadmills and rowing machines do Not have to wear a mask. Everyone else, no matter how much distance one bodybuilding machine is from another or free weight station is from another, has to wear a mask.

Okay, but here’s the kicker. Most of the doctors and nurses that frequent the gym do not use the cable machines or the free weights. Most of them only use the ellipticals, treadmills, rowing machines etc and what do ya know.......none of them wore masks today.
In a land where a virus favors no person and is so damnably dangerous, even the doctors do not wear masks unless they are told that they have to.

Strange and almost within the realm of being ironic.

It is getting to a zombie state when people are wearing masks in places they do not need them just because they were told to. If there was a cure do you need to wear masks??? Now finally more and more doctors are going against the medical mafia and come out telling the truth about HCQ. In some countries they are doubling down forcing masks. The FDA the legal protection for the drug companies if they crack the whole thing falls apart. Many countries have HCQ across the counter medication. In the DR they pulled it out of the drug stores, you might wonder why? This has become politico not medical this is beyond countries this evil group want to control all. Cure means no masks, means no control, means the truth comes out.

Option 1: Stay home and avoid travel. Keep your kids home from school, if you have children. Wear the latest fashion in cloth masks, and try to keep a distance from others when you have to go out. Take the first vaccine that is offered.

Option 2: Go out and enjoy life. Send your kids to school if you want to, or homeschool them if you prefer. Respect personal space and practice good hygiene. Refuse the rushed coronavirus vaccine, but do your best to build up your immune system.

With either of these options, there is no need for arguing or insulting those who choose the other, unless it amuses you or helps to kill the time.

Option 3: Talk a lot about the importance of staying home, avoiding travel, and wearing a cloth mask, but consider it your civic duty to visit the stores at least once a day to monitor everyone else, so that you can let them know how selfish they are if they're not wearing a mask. Besides, this gives you a chance to show off the latest styles in cloth masks. Report any business that is not strictly enforcing the governor's mandates. Spend all of your free time lobbying to keep schools, restaurants and other businesses closed, and criticizing anyone who chooses a different option than you did, secretly hoping they all catch the virus and die.

Either of these options offers roughly the same chance of catching the virus, but option 2 gives you a better chance of surviving it, while option 3 adds a great deal of unnecessary stress, which isn't good for your immune system, and you really don't know what you'll be getting with that vaccine.

    @Ken Anderson,
There is a forth option which is to avoid the temptation to go out daily and put knots on the foreheads on folks who do #3. If one does succumb to the temptation then option #5 is open which is to learn how to play the harmonica whilst sitting in one’s jail cell.

Do note: Option #5 is not available for those who are avoiding the virus sans masks by rioting and or protesting in a mob of no less than 100 people you’ve never met before.
Rioters and protesters do not get CV hence no need for any alarm.

The craziness goes both ways. One of the newspapers published an article about Walmart and other large retailers walking back their announcements about strictly enforcing the mask requirements. The reason they gave was to reduce altercations between customers and employees. Then they gave several examples, but every single one of them was of someone not wearing a mask causing an altercation. For example, they cited the case where a non-masker shot a security guard who told him he couldn't enter without a mask but left out the one where a security guard in California shot someone to death for not wearing a mask. The idea, of course, was to give the impression that people who don't like wearing masks are unreasonable and disruptive. There are examples of bad behavior on both sides, but you don't read about all of them. For everyone who caused a scene after being asked to wear a mask, there is someone who caused a scene in the store or parking lot because someone wasn't wearing one. There are crazies on both sides.

Yesterday, at AG Bill Barr’s hearing in front of the House Judiciary Committee, the Chairman of said committee, J. Nader became irritated because some of those at the hearing were not wearing their masks according to whatever guidelines Nadler had set.
He spent a few moments admonishing everyone but in particular named 3 men at the hearing.
During his small tongue lashing someone (I believe it was Barr) interrupted to ask if he could remove the mask to drink water and before the last word was even fully uttered, Jerry Nadler slammed his gavel down whilst simultaneously saying “NO” with such finality that it was rather reminiscent of a spoiled child refusing to eat his broccoli.

Alas, it was a “do as I say and not as I do” sort of thing because our Tele-Tubby chairman went through his entire gavel banging, who’s your daddy admonishments......without wearing his mask.

We both dislike wearing a mask, but. Then again, we both are pretty discouraged about the different things that have canceled due to the virus. We moved back here for things we didn't have in northeastern Florida, but this summer sure has been a dismay. Have got one event, at the end of August, that we are highly looking forward to going to, and.............our masks will be with us!

That's a strong clue to the likelihood that it's all a political game. If these people, including Dr. Fauci, really believed the masks were necessary, it would have become second nature for them to wear their masks consistently and properly. The fact that they don't can only indicate that they know it's BS, and that it's not something they would even pretend to do unless they knew the cameras were on them.
