https://support.google.com/accounts/answer/61416?co=GENIE.Platform=Android&hl=en Stuff just happens sometimes. I have had to adjust my settings just about every time a new update occurs.
I couldn't log in all morning GMT,i.e., during the night (Eastern Time in the US). Was the server down?
I don't know. I was dealing with cat stuff this morning, and just now tried it, and it's working fine now.
The “stay logged in “ option doesn’t work any longer. For about a week now I have to log in each time I reopen the site. It isn’t a huge problem since I have the face recognition thing going on but it’s still a couple of steps I normally wouldn’t have to do. Never mind. I listened to my wife and cleared the history on Safari. I logged in and the “stay logged in” finally works.
No changes have been made in the forum setup. If the "stay logged in" feature doesn't work for you any longer, it has to do with your browser, your cache settings, your acceptance of cookies, or something else that is beyond my control. I use Safari, and the "stay logged in" thing has never kept me logged in but since my login information is saved and automatically entered into the field, that hasn't been a problem. Often, I am not prompted to log back in, but sometimes I am. This hasn't been a big enough of a problem for me to worry about. If I wanted to spend an hour with Apple support or delve through a bunch of online documentation, I might be able to figure it out but it's not that big of a problem, in my opinion. A quirk with Apple products is that custom settings are often reset to the default during updates, so I'd have to do it all over again later.
I have all my browsers set to "clear history" upon closing down. If I do leave the browser unattended even though my name still shows as online,I will have tolog back in.
There might be a period of time (I forget what it is) in which you will still show as being logged in after you have actually logged off. I'm not sure now if that's an adjustable time period or a fixed one, nor do I really know why forum software does that but I've run forums on several different software packages and they all do that. The best I can figure is that some forum administrators like to make it appear that there are more people logged in than there really are, although that seems kind of silly, too.
Ken, please allow me to stay logged on since I just returned after recovering from a Hacker Attack. Thank You, Hal
I can't control that. As Beth says, the "Stay logged in" thing usually works, but I still get logged out every now and then.
I keep being logged out minutes after I log in and off and on most of the day. Anyone know why this happens? Sometimes it is worse than others but still happens off and on everyday. Some days I can stay logged in for hours like yesterday so I can't figure it out.
I can't reply, thru and e-mail, when I get one about a reply that someone done on a thread. IOW, I can't go directly into SOF from the e-mail. It shows that I'm not logged in. So, I have to go directly to SOF, where I am logged in, to reply.
