Most people who come into contact with the infamous coronavirus never go on to develop COVID-19, which is the designation for the disease. This is not made clear in media reports of the numbers of people who have tested positive. In other words, if you test positive for the novel coronavirus, the chances are very good that you will never go on to develop a disease. I just wanted to clarify that.

The question is that, while there has been a lot of discussion and emotions expressed here about the virus, how many of you have actually been tested for it?

Unless you post your answer as a comment, no one - including myself - will know how you have voted, as the poll features doesn't keep a record of that, at least not one that is readable.

I will leave it open-ended so that you can change your answer if you're tested at some point in the future.

Nope. I see no need unless I start having symptoms.

I was tested after I got sick and it, of course was positive. After I recovered and was tested and it was negative, I am not tested again unless I leave the premises. If I test negative, I do not have to be tested again. Vicious circle since this goes on and on in NJ. No one bothers to reassess anything nor let up on the guidelines. I mostly ignore a lot these days except when out in public. I wear a mask and keep my distance from people.

Yes, I'm taking care of my 95 year old mother right now so I have to stay on top of things.

I've been tested twice, but only because my Advantage Plan arranged for a mobile testing van, and offered gift cards to the local grocery store for those who participated.

That is rather surprising. Not that I think you should be but with all the mandatory testing going on, I would have thought that they would have tested the residents of a senior’s home at least once.

None of us have been tested but we have had one care worker get QVD-19 and one resident. The care worker was OK after five days and the resident has been removed. We have had no deaths. Every one wears a mask. No visitors allowed, no group gatherings. Lock down and in.
Lois Winters emails me that they have deaths at her Assisted Living in New Jersey .

Corona virus cause 1/3 of common colds. Do you get colds more than once?
This virus by itself cause very few deaths but combined with other ailment that would normally kill you they can claim it is more dangerous. Most of these ailments are what they [MD] call chronic like they do not know how to cure them.

I think, though, we can look at common characteristics of coronaviruses (and most viruses), one of which is that they mutate into different strains.
