I agree with what you are suggesting (assuming that I am understanding it correctly), @Peter Renfro . The reason that our beloved country is being burned down is not because we all hate each other, (we don’t) or even because we have different religious or political beliefs. People are fooled into thinking that controversy and followed by violence is how something should be accomplished, and many of the people actually leading the riots are simply there because they are mercenaries and are being bussed around the country to stir things up all over. This is not a riot/protest thread, so I am not going to delve further into this right now, but I totally agree that we should not be burning down our country, or provoking that burning, for ANY reason. Both sides need to abstain from doing this. As always, the innocent suffer the worst from this violence.
Peter, my motives aren't so nefarious as you're making them out to be. One can place oneself in the middle of a controversy to hear from many differing points of view. In other words, one can learn important things from controversy. Is that so bad?
Peter, suppose I take your criticism to heart and adopt the opposite tact. No controversy for me! I give no opinion on anything at all. I try to be a gray, uninformed and obedient drone like everyone else. I do not care about or even know what I think about a broad range of issues. Happy now?
We need to stop. This is a hairy situation and it could go on forever. You stop first., then I will. Maybe.
I am hot and sweaty; it is not the time to tangle with me. So cut it out before I give you the brush-off.
