The creator of the Harry Potter series has gone crazy and expressed some very strange ideas about human biology and sexuality. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/J._K._Rowling "On 6 June 2020, Rowling criticised an article's use of the phrase "people who menstruate" instead of "women". She went on to write, "If sex isn't real, there's no same-sex attraction. If sex isn't real, the lived reality of women globally is erased", while saying that she is empathetic to transgender people." Among other odd ideas, Rowling is uncomfortable with people with penises ( can't sat 'men' anymore, can we? ) using little girls' bathrooms . Find the South Park episode where Cartman claims to be a transgender and insists on using the girls' bathroom. The problem is solved by the school when Cartman.gets his own exclusive bathroom in a converted janitor's closet.. It's explained why the term 'normal' is insulting to transgenders and why we we need to say Cis-gender instead. Yes, Rowling has gone nuts and I'm right there with her.
She's not that poor.... worth about 60 million, down from a much higher number. Also, she has many defenders, probably more than attackers. The attackers are more strident, as usual in cases like this. Transgenders and their advocates don't care much for free speech, it seems. I can't just be 'normal' these days - gotta be 'cis-gender'. Orwellian.
Listening to this, I realized I didn't know the difference between 'transsexual' and 'transgender' so I tried to find out. I'm still vague about what each means - just that they're not the same thing. https://archive.org/download/youtub...my_daughter_to_the_trans_cult-dNiV7PIqMTA.mp4
My quick internet search says that a transsexual is someone who has made the physical change from boy to girl, or girl to boy. Apparently transgender is In other words, it's confusing for everyone. It also makes one wonder what transoceanic, transcontinental, and transitory really mean.
not to throw thread off track but there's this https://news.unclesamsmisguidedchil...qU77RXa8lrsY6NoZguURS6hly-kbwE9iQVVnDCosj8X54
That's not off track at all. The article refers to the person as 'she' but 'her' photo looks to be of a man. Not that it matters too much but I'd like to know which gender the person was born with. I was too quick in my reading. The title refers to her/him as a transsexual so I guess she started off as male.
The media plays right along when referring to the subjects of stories by their "identify as" sex. I anticipate the first lawsuit when a doctor tells a man who's wearing a dress that the man has prostate or testicular cancer. Odds are 50/50 that the doctor will be convicted of a Hate Crime.
