The lunch meal is perfect for me. I love pot pies this time of the year. Hearty and rib stickin'. Hmmm.
Ate at a new Mexican restaurant that just opened nearby (meaning 8 miles up the road.) My 3rd Year of the COVID dining out experience. It was OK, they're a little "upscale." Continues to reinforce my newfound position of restaurant food just not being worth the price. Chicken Fajita Burrito (not really stuffed very much) + Iced Tea + Sales Tax + Tip = $22. That's about the same price as the next closest (20 miles from home) non-fast food Mexican place, but that other one has larger serving sizes (a bulging burrito versus a slender tube.) I will get a second meal out of what I had for lunch, though...I stuff myself with chips & salsa. Probably should have ordered one of the lunch specials, but the servings looked "downsized." Would have saved $5. This had been a second location for a pizza place that is popular in Charlottesville (located near that other Mexican place), and it shut down after a couple of years. I'm not sure why the pizza place didn't last there. There's not many sit-down places to eat around here, nor are there many decent pizza places...and their pizza was good. I think the lack of a white collar lunch crowd out here makes it tough to survive. I hope they make it.
Had a hankering for a tuna sandwich, so I popped open a can and added the usual ingredients. I must be low on mercury...
That’s looking good, mmm with that glass of wine, too. We had rump roast cooked with potatoes, some braochcii, pork & beans, and butter bread. I had mineral water. yours looks better
