    Oh, now it's coming back to me. Years ago I bought one of these but....it was used in one of my hobbies for rolling clay. I know, I know, so, not the purpose but it was just one of my interests at that time. I bet it makes better pasta.

    All of these food posts between you and John (pasta making) are making me hungry. How did the flatbread pizza crust turn out?

    @Maggie Rose

    Funny you should mention clay. I've wanted to be able to adjust the width of the pasta sheet that comes out of the machine, and found a solution on a sculpting site. The woman made a spacer out of clay so as to narrow the path her rolled clay went through. I've purchased plastic clay to make a couple of different width spacers, but have yet to do it.

    Regarding the flatbread pizza...all I've done so far is to use the Caputo pasta flour to make a blend for regular pizza. As I said before, I make normal sized recipes, so cannot do all the things I'd like to without creating an enormous backlog of pre-made dishes (more enormous than I've already got.)

    I just was Beth's post. She and I have a backlog of ideas it seems.

    Welcome to the internet, huh?

    That's the beauty of a Senior's forum...we either rapidly forget transgressions, or we blame the wrong person!

    Wow.

    Thanks for that.

    I have some wheat berries I've yet to do anything with (my SHTF supply), but have yet to buy a grinder (I noticed that she has an electric one.) That one just may remain on the "To Try" list. I can't imagine how she made pasta out of it. As she said, there's darned little gluten.

    It all looks so good. I'm not certain I've seen a pasta vid that does not make my mouth water. I just may try a basic pesto sauce and large sheets like that.

    Now I don't feel so bad for over-complicating my recipes!!!

    Did you notice the masked butcher and his assistant?

    I watch some of the vids where women make the semolina pasta shapes, then put them in the alley on screens to dry in the sun. The narrator said that those were destined for restaurants.

    That's why Italy is #7 in the world regarding life expectancy (only 1 year separates them and #1)...they exercise their immune systems.

    You can choose your favorite!

    I had a friend who was a chef at a very well-known restaurant back home. I was the only one who would cook for him.

    It's not that I'm on his level by any stretch of the imagination, but I knew he appreciated someone else being in the kitchen, and he wasn't gonna criticize the benefit.
