I quit believing one wax is better than the other many decades ago. No more applying, waiting to dry and buffing, rather spray on and rinse. Done. I remember Blue Coraling my ride and my dad's. It took all day.
@Steven Stanick Blue Coral was indeed more of a hoax than a valuable protectorant. Simonize was little different. They consisted of wax which when buffed off left a "shine" and some water impregnability. I think chemicals in the foul air where I grew up (outside Chicago) accounted for the quick demise of the "protection". Frank

I did Blue Coral on my '63 Continental, AND I put saddle soap on the interior! Lots of square miles of surface area...
@Steven Stanick Just wondering where, and did you remain there, or leave as I did? Before my 20s, I had only once been on a vacation trip, with my folks, to the Wisconsin Dells. A number of firsts: cabin overnight away from home, meals eaten in restaurants (never before occurred), amazing scenic rock formations and cliffs, all this impressed on the mind of a boy of 9. Trips across the country began when I married, at age 23, and drove to L.A., stopping overnight in the mountains of Colorado, then witnessing the breathtaking beauty of Utah, floored by the sight of a casino inside in Vegas, finally winding up at my Uncle Ed's place in Sylmar (L.A.), CA. Years ago I used the green Turtle Wax paste that comes in the can. You had to chisel that stuff off. It embeds in scratches and you can see every scratch afterwards. I now try to use the spray on stuff, but I've been lazy about that in recent years.
When I take my car to the do-it-yourself car wash, I always finish the job with that spray-on wax. Probably just water but they get my extra 50 cents.
Our next door neighbor owned a gas station/garage and he did detailing work. So he did our cars for free. Looked gorgeous when he was finished. Only once did I help a cousin of mine in Philadelphia simonize his Pontiac. Never again. That was major manual labor, but that car sparkled when we were done.
Doesn't the spray on wax leave streaks all over the windshield? It used to. It's been a while since I used one of those places. The anxiety about whether you were going to be able to rinse off all the soap before the machine cut you off was too much for me. lol
