Govornor Janet Mills now decrees that staff in restaurants must now wear face shields upside down so that they are attached at the collar instead of the forehead, so that their breath is directed up, not down. Yes she wants you to wear a dog cone... peak insanity. I wish this was a joke.. its real

I do. I am cursed with a governor every bit as dense as yours, although I don't think she's dense. If I believed that she means well for the state, then I might have to believe that she is a moron, but I think she is simply following the only strategy the Democrats have for the 2020 elections, which includes destroying the US economy. I think she also enjoys stretching the limits of what she can make people do.

Governor Whitmer was on Meet the Press, and had some kind of little blocks (or something) stacked up beside her on a table. On the blocks the top one had an “86” (which is code for throw someone out, or even kill them), and the bottom one had a “45” on it (Trump is the 45th President).
The pictures are all over the internet, and a lot of speculation about why Whitmer did this.

How do you know 86 is code for that? Did she use these in her appearance on tv.
    Just curious.

Gloria, that term has been around for years. I believe it originated during the Korean War but there are various accounts of how it started. It's usually used to mean "throw out" or similar.

In bars, if some one is 86ed it means they are not to be served any more alcohol. I've never heard it used other wise, but I can see where some would use it as thought here.

I hesitate to ask if there is any scientific basis for her recommendation.

Gee, next you're gonna tell me the Speaker of The House of Representatives of the United States Congress is classless enough to tear up the President's State of the Union Address on national television.

    I mean, C'mon, man.

Damned right-wing conspiracy gun nut supremacists.

Kinda takes "I think; therefore, I am" to a whole new level.

(Not meaning you, but meaning the gender-confused.)

So speaking of Caitlyn Jenner, does the gender switch mean that he won all the women's events in the Olympics, too? Just pondering.

Going back to the 86/45 thing, 86 was originally an F&B term meaning “out”. One of the most popular stories of it’s beginning is that supposedly the menu item #86 at the Ritz Carlton or the Rockefeller Hotel (or some such) back in the 40’s was so popular that they kept running out of it. Being out of #86 began the transition of say, #22 is 86’d or like #86, we are out.
Then, the meaning was extended to throwing things out or oust as in, “86 that meat [because it isn’t any good] or 86 that guest because he hasn’t paid for the room and indeed, 86 the abusive drunk at the end of the bar.

The 86/45 could just mean that it is time to “oust” #45 or in today’s temperament it could indeed be something quite ominous. Only she would know.
What I want to know is, why is the Governor of the Great State of Michigan playing with kiddie blocks? Is she, like Joe Biden trying to appeal to the much younger future voters or does she really believe that most Democrats are like her, that is, childish and ignorant?
I think, if I were a democrat and a governor thought I was so simple that I could only read building blocks I’d be a bit ticked in that she didn’t try to appeal to my intellect instead.
