If you do drink coconut milk there is another link in the article that has a list that has been started of brands that do not use monkey labor.

    Yup.

Although the manufacturer they call out denies the accusations.

Of course they are going to deny it. I wonder how they were able to get those videos.

It's PETA. They got them the same way our media got pics of "Trump's kids" in cages before he even announced his candidacy.

Besides, PETA has been caught in lie after lie.

Just when I believe I have heard it all, "monkey labor" is a thing.

They'd better stop monkeying around. Sorry, I couldn't help myself.

There are two causal issues I've considered:

1-That business refused to pay its tithe to PETA.
2-The human coconut pickers got angry at being displaced, and inflamed this issue.

The day George found out that The Man in the Yellow Hat was selling his coconuts

(As I was searching for a pic to use, I came across all sorts of articles titled "Curious George Controversy."
Lots of weird axes to grind in this world. We've lost our mind.)

Soooooo, all those folks who had monkeys will probably resort to the old method of using their kids to climb trees?

No one will acknowledge how good we truly have it, as evidenced by this barrel-bottom scraping to find things over which to be incontinent.

And it's particularly galling coming from PETA, who takes money to "rescue dogs and cats," then euthanizes them because critter food is just too darned expensive. I really see no benefit...but I'm not a highly paid PETA executive.

Someone offers jobs to poor, unemployed monkeys and PETA has a problem with that?

The monkeys refused to unionize, and now they've had their Twitter account suspended.

I first saw this "forced money labor" story on a news website and was in the comments section where someone asked what PETA thought about horseback riding...so I took a look. They have a webpage sort of denouncing it...they quoted an article by someone else who had a problem with it. I suspect that some of PETA's high dollar supporters are probably of the equestrian set, so PETA's not gonna get too aggressive on the issue.
