hi this is Brian, i love photography, but I find it takes a lot of time to sort photos, so I wanted to know how do you sort photos?
On our computer. Take photos from both iPhone and digital camera and put into computer photo software for editing. Then they go onto a USB, so we can show them on our tv using our Blue-Ray DVD/CD Player.
Hello @Brian Hiperson. Welcome to SoC. I sort basically by folder, then categories, then subcategories. Sorting is easy it's remembering which one a photo is in. lol
Hey, Brian. Welcome. One way to make photos more manageable is to add "Tags" to them. It's tough to find a single bucket to place them in, when a given photo might be of a specific vacation, a specific place, a specific year, a certain person, or any number of things. "Tagging" gets around that and makes them searchable. This works for all files, not just pics. Here's how you do it: >Right-click on the picture >Select "Properties" from the drop-down list >Go to the Details tab >Click in the space next to the "Tags" field >Type in the whatever words you will want to search on later >>You'll see that Windows automatically adds a semi-colon to separate each searchable word >>You can type a phrase, but single keywords are easier to remember Now that you've done this, you can find all the files you have tagged by using the "Search Pictures" field in the upper right-hand corner. This searches all files in the folder you are in, as well as in any subfolders. Once you have your Found List, you can view them or manage them (copy, move) etc. There are ways to further filter your search by file type, size, date, etc as well. Articles on "Searching Tagged Files" will likely give you more ideas.
Hi Brian and welcome. Are you trying to sort picture files on a computer or actual hard-copy photos? Computer organization is easy; manual sorting not so much.
Hi, Brian, welcome to this forum. Tell us about youir photography. What camera do yo use? What do you like to shoot best, portraits, close ups, macro, wild life or does it make any difference? Someonne else can best tell you about how getting photos dowwnloaded as I am something of a dumb bunny kwhen it come to techinal stuff. This forum is like most others, I suppose, you get out of it what you put in to it. Look around, size it up, and dive right in. I think you'll like what you see. Again, welcome aboard.
yeah, I also put them into USB or make videos, but before I do, I want to sort them out first, divide into categories, otherwise it will be unorganized and chaotic
this is a good method, but I think it would take too much time, because I have lots of pictures, people, landscapes, animals...
You might just buy a photo manager program. Or if you search for File Tagging Software, there are tools to make that job easier. You can "batch tag" files with some of them.
