Great uses for them! I like the idea of having one for when you want to work on a plumbing leak under the sink or something like that. You never have enough hands and it's hard to move about down there. Last week, I had to replace the guts inside the toilet tank which has to be done about every 2 years here (very, very, hard water, it destroys everything). Even that, gets kind of dark up under the toilet against the wall, etc. I only have 1 window in my bath and it's on the opposite side of the room. If it's cloudy or dark outside it's hard to see really well for the plumbing repairs. I can think of lots of uses for this hat.@Beth Gallagher
I thought I was the only one that entertained the neighbors with how I have to do my yard work. I can't get a rider though. 1) too expensive 2) I have too many gardens it would be hard to get around with my fence. I wish I could though.@Ed Wilson
I've got two now. Black and Decker and Dirt Devil. B&D I've had longer. They both are very good for those piles of dust and dirt, dry spills, table crumbs and even spiderwebs. I have used the DD for the stairs on occasion to get the corners that a dust mop or broom can't. I keep them on the charger 24/7 so they are fully charged when needed. I haven't needed a new filter yet because I carefully wash them and air dry. So, I'm very happy with both.
Here there is another time (and back pain) saver device: The roomba. I used it almost everyday. No more brooms in the house.
I believe @Yvonne Smith has one of those. I bought one a couple of years ago but ended up returning it. It seemed to make such random turns around the room I couldn't believe it was actually cleaning anything. It seemed to get confused by furniture, too.
We do have one, ours is a Shark Ninja robot cleaner. The old Roomba's went everywhere and went in an erratic manner. The Shark goes back and forth, back and forth, so you can see that it is not missing areas like the Roomba did. We moved all of the plants inside for the winter and they are in the middle of the living room, so I am not using the robot right now, because there are too many obstacles. It has an app and I can operate it with my phone, which is pretty cool, and there is a map that shows where all she went to vacuum afterwards.
Everyone knows I am flummoxed by technology. The two technological advances I love are my dishwasher (they have come a long way) and my garage door opener. I haven't 'cleaned' in a long time. I surprised myself that I dusted yesterday but people were writing things on my furniture ; ) It is getting to be time to move all the furniture and get rid of any critters in the corners. I still have one good leg. (hip replaced).
